Oral Roberts senior forward Dominique Morrison has been named to the Collegehoops.net All Mid-Major team.

The 6-foot-6 Morrison was named to the five-man first team, along with Murray State guard Isaiah Canaan, Iona senior guard Scott Machado, Weber State junior guard Damian Lillard and George Mason senior forward Ryan Pearson. Canaan was named Mid-Major Player of the Year.

Morrison, from Kansas City, averaged 20 points and 4.3 rebounds per game, helping the Eagles to the Summit League regular-season title and a 27-6 overall mark, breaking the single-season school record for wins at the Division I level.

Morrison ranks as the fifth-leading scorer in school history with 2,067 points. He has scored 20 or more 39 times in his career and had a career-best 38 points in a 97-75 win over South Dakota State at the Mabee Center on Jan. 7.

He was one of four Summit League athletes chosen to the team. SDSU’s Nate Wolters received second-team honors, Oakland’s Reggie Hamilton was on the third team and IUPUI’s Alex Young received Honorable Mention.

That's quite an honor for DoMo....this is a very special young man who has always given 110% on the floor and been a positive reflection of what ORU stands for off of it......let's hope that he still has a few more games to play in his ORU career.....

. . . and interestingly, of the five Summit League players named, the only one in the Honorable Mention category is the one that pro scouts seem to have the most interest in, at least at this point..

Sometimes I just don't understand . . .
