Ok, I've got to weigh in on this one, having perspective from many angles on this subject. I have coached many years of youth basketball, both Boys & Girls. I also have a Daughter that is an ORU Senior, & student athlete. Probably no mystery what sport (from my handle), but I also have a 16 year old Son, so I see the issue from a very balanced position.

Dsummitfan, I understand your frustration, however, oruvoice has nailed it with his posts, and I can gaurantee you it is not because he does not support Women's athletics. There is no person on the planet with more respect for female athletes than myself, but I also know the reality of the marketplace, and ORU cannot change that reality no matter how much advertising they do for women's sports. Putting the majority of marketing dollars into what for ORU is no doubt the "flagship" sport, (Men's Basketball) gets more return, and also, more benefits for all sports Tier 1 and otherwise, than forcing them to market all equally. My point is, as a proud ORU parent of a non tier 1 sport athlete, I see the benefits of an athletic dept. that sees the marketplace clearly, and puts the dollars where they get the most return. Kind of like capitalism vs socialism. Almost always, demanding equality of outcome sinks, rather than lifts all boats. Our family has not missed a Men's or Women's game, and we support both equally.... but fan support in the general public just is not near the same for Men's & Women's sports. If you try to see the big picture... I think you will have to agree. My Daughter's sport, while many absolutely love it,... will never get the support that Men's or Women's basketball gets, but I understand the system, and truly appreciate the support she does get from great ORU fans on this board.

You should post more often. That was a fantastic post.

Thanks for your prespective, Golfdad. I think we all are on the same page and want to see more fan support for the women's programs. More fan support will generate more financial support.

Thank you guys.... I think those reviews are a bit too glowing. You are the expert posters here. I just sound like I know what I am talking about, because of my closeness to this post subject. Guess I will see most of you at the Bracket-Buster at 1:00 today! Have a great weekend!

ORU women's basketball game ... priceless. Cheaper than a movie and much more fun. Plus, the refreshments are cheap!
