ORUalum
Oral Roberts Golden Eagles Overall Rank: #38 Conference Rank: #1 Summit The Golden Eagles come into 2011-12 with high expectations coming off a deep WNIT run with plenty of veteran experience to build off of and their Summit League Regular Season Conference Championship. The high octane offense, led by Kevi Luper and Jaci Bingham and company, averaged nearly 90 points a game in conference play and just less than 85 points a game overall last season. So they will come off the bus and come at you in waves over and over again until they wear their opponents down. This year projects to be more of the same with a trip to NCAA Tournament a very strong likelihood. Oral Roberts could be this year’s Gonzaga and make a deep run to Sweet 16 or Elite Eight. theeagleman5
This is very high praise for the ORU ladies....now let's see if they can come thru on the court....I still have visions of that 20+ point loss vs. lowly LaSalle last November....... Old Titan
Our current women's team under Jerry Finkbeiner reminds me of Texas Tech football's spread offense under Mike Leach: if the other team doesn't make adjustments, we'll make 'em look silly and double up the score on them. But, if the other team is talented enough to game plan specifically for what we try to do, they can turn the tables and leave us with little else to fall back on, and can make us look pretty bad. That's what happened to the extreme against Oakland in the conference tournament semi's last year: by the time they saw us for the third time, they had figured out exactly what to do to give us problems. Then they went out and executed it to perfection. The challenge this year will be to add some extra wrinkles where we can, so that the better teams can not anticipate our every move.
