theeagleman5
Overall, a very meek effort by Dallas Baptist this weekend....but I guess Cal had some good pitching....funny how things work out....UCLA and Oregon State had better teams but the Golden Bears end up representing the PAC-10 in the CWS.... theeagleman5
Virginia and Texas A&M join the CWS group tonight....the Aggies were impressive in ripping Florida State in Tallahassee....we could see an all Big 12 matchup with them vs Texas in Omaha next week... Bogus Smith
ORU also gets votes in the final USA Today/ESPN poll, finishing at #35 nationally: USA Today/ESPN Top 25 Coaches Baseball Poll Just goes to show you that even with loses to SUI-E, NDSU, SDSU, WIU, IPFW, and Oakland, it doesn't matter how you start - it only matters how you end. The team certainly gelled at the end of the season, but I don't know that we were the 35th best team in the nation. We have some serious work to resolve in the 7-8-9 holes of our offense and need to find a #3 starter to make some serious noise in the Super Regional and have a chance at Omaha; however, I do like our team and we have a very good foundation for the future. tmh8286
ORU also gets votes in the final USA Today/ESPN poll, finishing at #35 nationally: USA Today/ESPN Top 25 Coaches Baseball Poll Pretty amazing, considering the frustration we all felt with this team at times this season. Bogus is no doubt right - it's not how you start, but how you finish, that counts!
theeagleman5
We need more bats for next season....the catcher Pickar had a disappointing season at the plate....an upgrade might be needed there.....
