ManiacAlum
Bottom 3rd, ORU now down 5-2. Spring strugg-a-ling to retire batters.
theeagleman5
ORU has battled back to tie the game at 5 and now batting in the home 9th....great relief pitching by Dan Martony....5 scoreless innings in relief of Spring....this series opener is a must win!... theeagleman5
Amazing!...ORU comes back to win game 1 today on a 2 out wild pitch in the 9th inning scoring pinch runner Guest who is a pitcher....must have been a crazy game....anybody listening who can fill in details?...TheEagleman assumes Gonzalez goes in game 2 tonight?....this is a huge comeback win for the good guys....such a heartbreaking defeat has to deflate SUU a bit.... ManiacAlum
Wow! I'm pretty sure that's ORUs 5th comeback win in a row, and 3rd in the late innings. Although I would rather not cut it this close the rest of this series.
theeagleman5
Game Two is still 0-0 after 3 innings....both Gonzo and SUU hurler throwing 1 hitters at this point.....looks like another barnburner....we only had 6 hits in game 1 so it appears ORU bats haven't woken up yet in this DH..... theeagleman5
ORU batting in the bottom of the 6th and still no score in the nightcap....looks like this game could go extra innings....ORU with only 3 hits and SUU with 2 off Gonzalez.... ManiacAlum
So this is a 7 inning game? I'm away from my computer, so I appreciate the updates eagleman!
theeagleman5
Yes....but we are now scoreless thru 7 innings and head to the 8th....ORU and SUU have played 7 innings in just 1 hr 15 minutes....that has to be some kind of record.....still only 5 total hits in the game between both squads.....these T-Birds are playing us tough at JLJ.... theeagleman5
Gonzo and Neubauer still throwing zeros....we head to the 9th....0-0.....neither team even threatening in the past few innings.....Both hurlers right around 100 pitches for the night....I wonder if either will go more than 9 innings if we are still playing.....what a game!..... ORUalum
ORU needs to end it in the bottom of the ninth. gonzo is pitching on fumes. don't know how he got out of the top of the ninth.
theeagleman5
Gonzalez gets out of a bases loaded jam with 2 outs in the top of the 9th....still 0-0....Gonzo up to 120 pitches now so that's likely it for the night....ORU needs to end this one now as we go to the home 9th!.... ORUalum
this neubauer guy is pitching from a rocking chair...ORU can not hit leftys
theeagleman5
Nope.....3 up 3 down for ORU in the 9th....heading to the 10th at 0-0....Neubauer just over 100 pitches...he might come out for another inning.....we haven't had a hit since about the 4th or 5th... ORUalum
wow...great win. incredible pitching by both starters. not sure why the SUU coach did not have someone up and warming when he sent his guy out in the bottom of the tenth. he was approaching 120 pitches after the elder at bat, but he did not have anybody warmed to bring in. theeagleman5
ORU WINS 1-0 in the 10th!....Schiller doubles in Elder with one out and Matt Rush gets the win in both games of the DH.....huge victory for ORU!....can't wait to hear some details from those in attendence!....
theeagleman5
Neubauer goes the distance for SUU...tremendous effort for the lefty in 9 1/3 innings and shut out ORU on 3 hits thru 9....but Elder and Schiller got to him in the 10th....Gonzalez must also have been magnificant also going 9 scoreless innings giving up just 3 hits.....ORU wins a wonderful pitchers duel tonight at JLJ...these two brutal walkoff losses really damage SUU's hopes of getting that #4 spot in the tournament....meanwhile, ORU just needs two more to clinch the one seed....looks like it won't be easy.....SUU has come to play..... ManiacAlum
Big win! Sounds like an incredible pitching performance, though it doesn't sound like we've been able to get Gonzalez a lot of run support his last few outings. We should never lose when that kids throwing. And Schiller has been on fire at the plate the last few weeks.
