The Oral Roberts women hold the first-round lead at the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islander Classic after posting a 306 on Sunday. ORU's Kylie Bollenbach, Amber Hensley and Megan O'Connell are tied for fifth place after each shot a 76. Crystal Reeves is tied for 11th with a 78

I love that headline!

AS a team, the Ladies just have to find a way to close it out. Comparable to having a lead in basketball, and not taking your foot off the gas. You need long posessions with a quality shot towards the end of the shot clock. The team has been in position to win several tournaments. They are experienced and very good golfers, but a very young team, if that makes sense.

Well, good luck to them as they finish out the tournament. I hope they're able to finish strong and come home with the win!

TU and the University of North Texas tie for team honors at 924; ORU comes in third at 927 (with fourth place (UTEP) a distant 940). Amber Hensley won medalist honors with a Tournament-best 70 today for a total score of 221. Congratulations to Amber and the Women's golf team (although TU beat us!! ARGHHH!!). We do have a very talented group of young ladies playing for the best school in Tulsa!
