NDSU golf recruit wins US Girls' Junior

Being as NDSU's golf program has historically been mediocre at best, this has got to be the biggest news in the history of our program. After winning medalist honors by having the lowest stroke-play score at the end of the 2-day qualifying rounds, Amy Anderson went on to capture the title. A home-schooled 17 year old, Amy will join the Bison golf team this fall. Her brother, also her caddy, will also join the men's team this fall. Nathan is the first male golfer to ever receive a full scholarship at NDSU, and Amy may be the first female to get the same. Amy will next compete at the Junior PGA Championship next week, and then decide if she will use her exemption to play at the US Women's Amateur starting August 3rd(winning the Junior gives you an exemption that you can use either that year or the next).
