wakeflip1
Lets keep this home streak going. We've won the last 24 home games. Longest streak in the nation. http://www.warrennolan.com/baseball/2009/stats
Bogus Smith
This team is starting to become pretty special already. We have some good offense that has done well against some very good pitching. We have a great starting rotation and some good arms coming out of the bullpen. The boys are focused and are believing in themselves. We have some good kids coming off the bench to pinch-hit (Barbosa has two key pinch-hits) and defensive/running substitutions. I really like this team and, although we're going to lose some games sometime along the way, I have to believe that these guys are going to get better in March/April during our non-conference and mid-week games. The crowd will work themselves out before too long. Those that are being rude will either get with the program or watch fewer games at JLJ (their choice). Yesterday's group of students were incessant noise makers as TMH described, but they were better than during the WMU series. However, once they asked the UTSA reliever if "he was a homo", he was confronted and we didn't hear that type of talk again (although they continued to be rude to the UTSA players). You would expect to hear that type of "noise" at a NYY game, just not at ORU.

Bogus Smith
Is it the content of what they're saying or the fact they're be loud that bothers everyone? Primarily the content. Not only are they calling players faggots and homos, but they're calling the opposing players out by name (because scorecards are being distributed of both rosters) and making comments that are unnecessary. wakeflip1
If I hear something like that, I'm walking up to the kid. No need for that.

jmg1984
the yahoo broadcast just stopped like the game was over was 2 outs in the 9th so i quess sullivan gets his 2nd win oru 7-2?
Bogus Smith
Correct, JMG...ORU stays undefeated with a 7-2 win over UTSA. Martinez has two HRs and Seth Furmenek has his another HR (his second of the season). Jerry goes 7 innings (118 pitches) with Jeff Burleson and Drew Bowen (giving up the HR in the ninth) contributing one innning a piece. It will be interesting to see who starts tomorrow since Burleson started Game 3 of the WMU series; however, the Eagles have a good chance of sweeping another series. At 6-0, it will be interesting to see if ORU will get some love in the polls in week 2.

ORUTerry
This could be a very special team... there is a lot of baseball to be played, but Coach Walton appears to have 're-loaded'. This squad can score runs - and with our apparent strength on the mound, we could be a force to be reckoned with.
