tmh8286
Use "Stats" link, find ORU, and double click on it. He lists a number of team and individual stats. Players ranking in top 500 in the nation are ranked in red. Player must have played 40% of game minutes to qualify for national ranking. Notice that Chris Riouse has an astronomical ORtg of 131.5, but didn't rank nationally because he's only played 17.1 percent of the total game minutes so far this season. I love these new stats. tmh8286
Sorry I didn't think to provide a link, mom. The link you posted didn't go to the page I was meaning. Try this one: http://www.kenpom.com/sr.php?team=Oral%20Roberts
tmh8286
Pomeroy's predictions show us only losing one more game, the away game at IUPUI, for the rest of the season: http://kenpom.com/sked.php?y=2006&team= ... oberts&t=p His predictions show Valpo losing two more - their away game at IUPUI and their away game at ORU: http://kenpom.com/sked.php?y=2006&team=Valparaiso&t=p If he's correct, we're looking at a tie at the top of the Mid-Con come season end. However, the reality is that these predictions are pretty meaningless when it's all said and done. Outcomes aren't always predictable. That's why, as rlh likes to say, we play the games. tmh8286
My thinking was a little off there. IUPUI, who has lost only one conference game so far, is predicted to lose only one more game - on the road at Valpo: http://kenpom.com/sked.php?team=IUPUI&t=p Valpo already has one loss, and two more predicted; IUPUI has one loss and one more predicted. So there WOULD be a tie at the top of the Mid-Con if all this pans out - but it would be ORU and IUPUI, not Valpo. Of course these numbers aren't really confirmed by experience - I think Valpo is a much better team than IUPUI, and will probably be at the top or tied at the top of the league when the season is over. Time will tell.
rlh
Interesting what Pomeroy predicts, HOWEVER, I would disagree with him because of history...If indeed Valpo loses to IUPUI, it will probably be at home. We very seldom lose to them in Indy, but have lost to them at home twice in the last three years. ...Just a point of interest
tmh8286
You can't place much faith in his predictions - they are strictly based on the numbers, and don't take into account the dynamics of changes taking place on the teams. Not only that, but the predicted loss to IUPUI by Valpo is by one point, and THAT only has a probability of 47%! He's not making any guarantees here!
