I guess Centenary is this year's Chicago State.  Are we all willing to sell ourselves for a price??

On a side note, how would you like to be the team that gets the 4:00 a.m. game in this ESPN Hoops Marathon??

Centenary Game Against Baylor Slated for ESPN

SHREVEPORT, La. -- Centenary Athletic Director Tom Tallach and men’s basketball coach Greg Gary have announced that the game against Baylor on Nov. 18 has been moved to Waco, Texas, in order for it to be televised on ESPN. The game, originally slated for a 7 p.m. start in Shreveport, will now begin at 3 p.m. in Waco.

“This is a great opportunity for the Centenary program and The Summit League to gain national basketball exposure,” Commissioner Tom Douple said.

The move accommodates ESPN’s hoops marathon, a parade of 14 college basketball games spread over 23 consecutive hours to help kick off the 2008-09 college basketball season.

The games open at midnight ET with national championship game runner-up Memphis hosting UMass and wraps up with the two winningest programs in college basketball history – Kentucky and North Carolina – meeting at 9 p.m. ET.

As a result, Centenary will not play a home game in Shreveport until its Summit League opener on January 8 against Oakland. The Gents will play the first 15 games of its 2008-09 schedule on the road over a span of almost two months.

Gee, I can't remember the Commish ever commenting about our many nationally televised games and how it was great for us and the conference... Yeah, it's great that one of our league teams doesn't have a home game until January and as a result, will likely have an RPI in the 300's (again).

So they gave up a home game (as a result they will be on the road for over 2 months) just to play on national T.V.??  Well, have fun getting drilled but hey at least now the whole country will be able to see it :|

Great point, Grizzfan.  Nothing like setting yourself up for public humiliation

The payday must have been much greater than selling out the 300 seats in the Gold Dome.  :-o
