Begnel Advances to U.S. Open Sectional Qualifying

TULSA, Okla.—Oral Roberts Universtiy golfer Terence Begnel (Tulsa, Okla.) finished second at a U.S. Open local qualifier on Monday at Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. By placing second, Begnel advances to sectional qualifying in June.

Begnel shot a 3-under par 68 on Monday, finishing three strokes behind former Wichita State star and Oklahoma native Brad Golden. Begnel next faces sectional qualifying on June 2.

but here is a true one....while a student at ORU, I did play a round with Dave Barr and Ron Streck (TU) who both went on to the PGA tour...my friend at the time and ORU prof, Ted Gellert was friends with both....at the time i was about an 8 handicap.... 8-)
