Gold*
We don't need a football team. With OU, OSU, and TU it would just get lost. TU has had amazing success recently considering their size. Aren't they one of the smallest D-1 football schools? We should just enjoy our success in basketball and baseball. Smallest school in D1a/FBS. ORU-sisko
Athletics in general don't always pay for themselves. The main benefit is alumni participation, fan base, and community loyalties which can translate into revenue, attendance, friendly city policy, and more. The above stated then turns into revenue. It's more of a back-end ROI rather than an immediate cost effeciant transaction. With that said.... You cannot be sports/espn relevant across the calender without a football team. We dissapear in town everytime Tulsa, OU, or OSU...heck even arkansas scores a touchdown. Now thats going to happen occasionally but I just want a sports represenative on every major table. Face it, Oklahoma is Football country.
