theeagleman5 Posted July 14 Posted July 14 That is a sad note and another one from the greatest ORU Team of 1973-74 is taken from us......Duane Fox was a really really nice guy.....TheEagleman did not know him well but i liked him and he would always talk when approached for a quote for one of my Oracle articles....a role player 6th or 7th man on those wonderful teams with Woods, McDougald, Roberts and McCants....now all gone.....Fox was about 6-6 and thin....good defender and could pull up and hit a mid range jumper.....not bad under the boards......i think he wore #25 and he was just a solid player off the bench....perhaps an occasional start.......wish i could have heard that speech......it's a sad day.... PS....pretty sure that Duane was from somewhere in Michigan. 2 1
bsullyok Posted July 15 Posted July 15 Duane was one of the first two people I met at ORU as a freshman in fall 1974, in line at the ORU bookstore, along with Kathie Lee Epstein (Gifford). Duane was a great guy, speaking to a lowly freshman. I remember he could leap, and yes, was pretty skinny, but not by the standards of basketball players in the 70s. He was from Inkster, Michigan, west of Detroit. Sad to learn of his passing. 1 2
