Keenan Henderson Posted June 1 Posted June 1 It is that time of the year ladies and gents: summer slow down. Why not talk about the upcoming basketball schedule. The NCAA now allows up to 32 games for D1 teams. As of today the Eagles only have 14 conference games on the docket. That means a lot of non conference matchups could be on the slate. Maybe another holiday tournament somewhere that is warm?

Keenan Henderson Posted June 1 Author Posted June 1 ORU does have games @UTA, @Tulsa, and home with Missouri State. It may be early to talk about the schedule but not much else is going on. Purdue has its non conference schedule out, so teams are already putting them together.

Keenan Henderson Posted June 4 Author Posted June 4 That brings up a point OT, with ORU having an possible 18 non conference games on the schedule, should they go after more (say 6-7) big ticket games? And could they use some of this extra money for NIL or does it just have to go to pay all the budget issues/staff, etc. Just throwing some discussion points out there.
oruvoice Posted June 4 Posted June 4 My guess is we load up on the maximum D2/NAIA games and D1 games against the bottom third (think SWAC or similar). Old Titan Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Must be nice to play in a showcase just a tank full of gas from Tulsa in the Metroplex. Of course, this really only makes sense if you have Texas players and/or are interested in recruiting the Lone Star State. Maybe ORU can play a holiday tournament in a former Eastern Bloc republic instead...#smh 2

Keenan Henderson Posted June 24 Author Posted June 24 Did anyone notice that now the college basketball schedule is going to start on Nov. 1st with Notre Dame vs Villanova in Rome? Interesting that the season is now starting so early, with college football only about 2/3 into their schedule at that point. Before we know it, the Eagles will be playing on Halloween. Wouldn't that be crazy? As has been mentioned earlier with so many opportunites for non-conference games (up to 18 for ORU), this would be a good time for CB to find some more home and home matchups with mid majors. With the chance to play 32 games, it gives all mid majors this opportunity. So, one would think that schools in the area (Little Rock, North Texas, UCA, etc.) would want to do that.

Keenan Henderson Posted July 7 Author Posted July 7 Jon Rothstein reporting that Creighton released their non-conference schedule and has a home game with ORU for Dec. 1st. The Eagles first pay day road game.
