Jonah came in to pinch run in the 8th, and scored from first on a throwing error. Then he batted in the 9th and doubled. Pretty good debut! From ESPN: "Colorado native Jonah Cox, called up from Double-A before the game, made his major league debut as a pinch runner in the eighth and doubled in the ninth for San Francisco." 4
TrueBlue82 Posted June 1 Posted June 1 For me, this great news took some of the sting out of ORU not making the NCAA tournament. Very happy for Jonah, and hope that he “sticks” for a long time. It was also cool to see him make his MLB debut in Denver, as he is originally from Colorado. 4 2
theeagleman5 Posted June 1 Posted June 1 Sorry, 82 but nothing takes the sting out of ORU losing to SDSU in the SL Tournament....it's a disgrace.....we no longer have the talent, swagger and stones of that 2023 team...geez those were the days.....miss Jonah Cox and friends..... Man I loved that CWS Team....great bunch of talented guys with heart.....probably not gonna see that again....... 1

Goes to CF, then LF, then back to CF in the bottom of the 8th after another single (LOB). He comes up in the 9th and hits his first major league home run off the first pitch of a position player trying to finish out the game for the Cubs. 3-3 with 2 runs and 1 RBI. Not a bad day's work for the young man!! Jonah is hitting .444 (4-9, with a double, HR, RBI and 3 runs scored) in his short (6-day) major league career. If he keeps this up, they're going to have a hard time sending him back down. By the way, the Cubs lose (AGAIN), 18-3. 3 1
Bogus Smith Posted June 8 Posted June 8 Jonah comes in to pinch run as the Zombie runner in the top of the 10th and scores the winning run when Matt Chapman hits a single through the infield and Jonah's speed gets him home. SF wins 2-1 and Jonah stays in to play CF in the bottom of the 10th without a ball coming his way. He is making the best of his opportunity with the big league club. 3 2
