Bogus Smith Posted March 17 Posted March 17 These are two quality young ladies. Bella is a shooter that can probably play more in a different mix of players. It is tough coming out of an environment where you are All-Everything and start over again not being top dawg. When she was open on the perimeter, she could hit the shot. Creating her own shot may take more time and effort. A'Maya is an athlete. She hasn't played basketball for very long and had a long runway to get all of the skills necessary for becoming a good ball player. She made a lot of improvement in the past year and will continue to grow if she applies herself. I look forward to seeing where these young ladies land and to watch them grow in their skills. 1

If Tyla wants to start, she should go D2. Any team recruiting her will tell her that she can compete for a starting job, but I don't know whether she wants to put in the work for the level of commitment it takes to do that. Not trying to be harsh, but if it were easy everyone would do it.

#1 Fan Posted Tuesday at 04:09 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 04:09 PM A'Maya Holton has signed with Incarnate Word. The ICU new head coach was an OSU assistant - so there is that connection. So far I have not seen any portal transfers to ORU.

She could LIVE at home if she went to IWU, but I would believe that she is living on campus with the rest of the team. The OSU assistant angle was probably helpful for her to understand the program A'Maya was coming from and that she was a quality player. I doubt that there was a relationship between the two until she became available on the portal. I hope A'Maya does well there. She was a great teammate and a better person.
