And while not always reliable on defense, he was one of the few perimeter defenders who could physically challenge his counterpart. If this announcement was not expected, it's a gut shot. Especially if your whole recruiting "plan" is focused on merely supplementing the returning starters with transfers. Now, there are three starters gone from last year, and not a soul on the current roster with comparable skills for what is lost. I've always said championships are won this time of year, with recruiting, hiring, scheduling, and development. Based on what I've seen/not seen since season's end, I find myself ruminating about the other end of the spectrum... 1
Keenan Henderson Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Ofri was the closest player the Eagles had on their roster that was a dawg. A little undersized but gave it 110% percent every night. It is what is: he can get a better deal somewhere else. It looks like season 4 of the rebuild. How many seasons does this show have? Sorry watch too much Netflix or Amazon!

Although disappointed to know he was moving on, I don't blame him to see what he can get in today's college sports environment. The money he can make here is very helpful back home. If we are honest, Ofri is a marginal P4 player, but could be very valuable in a conference like The American, A-10, or MWC where he could be paid an amount that he is looking for.

It's like any other industry. If you can find another "employer" that will pay you $10,000 more than what you're making at your current job, you are going to jump to that job that pays more.

I understand that Michigan is on a whole different level but if I understood the announcer correctly last night their starting 5 all transferred in from different colleges this season. Part of being a good coach is having the ability to pick good talent and surround yourself with like minded assistants. On a much smaller scale HCKB must show the ability to do this or else he will be replaced. Whether we like it or not this is the hand that all teams are dealt. Either adapt or you will not survive. The one constant in this life is change. I guarantee that 1 or more coaches in the Summit will figure it out, hopefully HCKB is in the mix! Let's remember we do not have to beat Michigan but we have to be competitive in the Summit and even better win the Summit!
Old Titan Posted April 7 Posted April 7 I have ALWAYS been under the impression that ORU has a lot more to offer than academic (or in today's world) financial rewards. It's a place to come to grow...to become a Whole Man*. That is not something most schools have to offer, and it should be presented as being priceless. It just takes the right person(s) out there on the recruiting trail spreading the word as athletic evangelists, PARTICULARLY with the parents and grandparents! * I know; I know - Whole Person... 4
