Keenan I really think this shows it comes down to $$$$. Teams like SDSU have more than us so our best option is International players or high school players who are not highly recruited but are decent and want to prove themselves before moving on to moneyland. It’s like a guy told me when I was a young buck, it’s like a cat taking a leak on the cash register, it all runs in the $$$$.

If Ofri went to MTSU, then he didn't get the upside on a revenue share deal that he thought he would.  Too bad he thought he needed to leave, but probably for the best for both parties.

Yuto ends up in the big town of Evansville, IN to play for OVC-affiliated Southern Indiana.

Y2 is on 5 schools in 5 years and goes from a 10 win program to a 7 win program.  He must have gotten some NIL money. 

On a side note, with this new idea that guys get 5 years to finish school, Connor Dow should get an extra year and techincally be a junior now.

LeBron James is leaving the Lakers and according to college basketball he can go into the portal since he never attended college.  Still has 4 years left at 41!

Yes they do but it was a poor attempt at humor to lighten the mood of college athletics/former wild west mentality.

As you may know the portal opened again with this new ruling that college basketball players now have 5 years of eligibilty.  So far, only about 25 guys have entered with a couple from Omaha (according to On3 website).  Who knows how all this will shake out but so far it seems that the Power 5 teams are looking to fill those last 1 or 2 spots on the roster with this few guys.  All this may not really effect mid major schools much (expect for Omaha).

I think when they first announced it, it looked like utter chaos would break out in August with all these extra players being back on the market.  We will see how it pans out as the portal is still open until August 10th.  Not sure it will help Lane Sparks as he started his career in 2021 and this ruling effects players who started in 2022.

Yeah, Lane is out of the mix since he is in the 2021 class.  He isn't eligible for this. 

It's my understanding that the class of 2022 players are only eligible to go back to their original teams from last season - IF there is a spot available and the school wants them back.  Otherwise, they are out of luck.

It seems like more keep entering the portal as 5th seniors are eligible again.  Cameron Fens from South Dakota transferred to North Carolina.  Glad to see him gone as he averaged 25 points and 13 rebounds against ORU last year.  Still have nightmares of Luke Gray trying to guard that mountain of a man (7 foot and 255 pounds).
