St. Thomas at ORU

Our Golden Eagles host St. Thomas at 2:00 PM in their last game before the Summit League tournament. It's Senior Night, so our ladies should be highly motivated. St. Thomas is in 4th place in the Summit League with an 8-7 record. ORU is right behind them at 7-8. With a win, we will be tied for 4th at 8-8. On Feb. 11th, we lost at St. Thomas 66-71. It's payback time.

I believe that ORU would earn the 4 seed with a win, as the tiebreaker would be ORU’s win at South Dakota (UST lost all its games against the top three teams). 
 

Unfortunately, the 4 seed only gives the team the right to wear the white jerseys in the first round matchup with the Tommies.  But, it would also give ORU some level of confidence heading to Sioux Falls.

The battle with the Tommies was a great display of grit and determination.  The first half ended in a 27-27 tie with the Tommies opening up the second half on a 7-0 run before ORU calls a timeout with the score 34-27. 

That's when the Ladies put their game into overdrive with a full court press defense and great team offense.  The ladies finally got through the third quarter with the five point lead and ended the game with a 15-point, 67-52 victory (a score that will make kids happy).  It was a great final home game for Jalei Oglesby and Taylor Jackson, while the women secure the #4 seed with their tie-breaker win over USD earlier this season (see TrueBlue82's post above).

Great first (winning) season for Coach Cophie Anderson and her staff and some good recruits coming in for the 2026-27 season this fall.
