theeagleman5 Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Important game for seeding tonight in Minnesota.....Lady Golden Eagles need a win....let's do it!!
oruvoice Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Barring a complete meltdown, it looks like we're going to be in the 4/5 game in the first round of the tournament. Getting to the 3 seed is highly unlikely and falling to the 6 seed is fairly unlikely. All things considered, a 4th place finish for the women this year would be pretty good. 1 I like to rhyme...I like my beats funky...I'm spunky...I like my oatmeal lumpy.
theeagleman5 Posted February 12 Author Posted February 12 All even 34-34 at halftime as ORU has rallied from 8 points down...Go Blue!!
theeagleman5 Posted February 12 Author Posted February 12 A disasterous 3rd Quarter cost the ORU ladies last night in a 71-66 loss at St. Thomas.....the girls battled back in the 4th but fell short.....hard to lose a game where your opponents turn it over 24 times to just 12 but we did.....probably 21% shooting from 3 and 40% from the FT line did not help.....those 9 missed FTs were the difference....hopefully the Golden Eagles can rebound on Saturday afternoon at Mabee Center vs. Denver....... 1
Bogus Smith Posted February 12 Posted February 12 What is it with free throws these days?? Both the men's and women's teams have diminished and lost their games based on the free throw line. There is a reason why they call them FREE throws! You make a shot that no one is contesting. Regardless of how winded or fatigued you are, you have to have the mental toughness to stand there at a line on the court, 15 feet from a basket elevated 10' in the air, and throw the ball just over the orange rim with the same mechanics that you learn BY PRACTICING!! For a skilled and dedicated craftsman/craftswoman, it is something that you do in your sleep. (I make it sound so simple, don't I?) What you practice is what you will do when it counts 95+% of the time. 1
