Hopefully a nice crowd will be on hand to root for ORU... 1

My wife and I were at the game. Yotes are good and so are we. We shot under 50% on our free throws which really hurt us. Our girls are very well coached and fun to watch. Most of their losses have been fairly close. Add a post and a couple of other pieces next year and we will be right near the top . 2 3

Yes, the ladies are a good group. They need to get the mental toughness of knowing that if the game is within one score that they command the game, make the defensive stop, and win the game. We are still too porous in the middle which allows other teams to take advantage of the points in the paint. Many of the players have developed well and are getting better, including Hannah Coons, Bella Edwards, and some of the players that didn't see the court much in the earlier part of the season. Next year, we have three very good recruits coming in, including Kaylee Reed from Mansfield, AR - a 6'3" player that scored 53 points in a game recently breaking her own school record for points in a game. With a line-up that only loses Oglesby for next season and a potential line-up of Baldwin, Trusty, Donley, and others, we should have enough depth and experience to be a handful for most of our conference. The future is bright for this group of ladies, as long as they don't get poached. 1 2

Hopefully the University of Arkansas does not continue to be the leading poacher of ORU next year. Currently Talaya Jones is the Hogs leading scorer at 17.2 points per game and Emily Robinson is tied for the 4th leading scorer at 8.3 points per game and she is their leading assist leader. Not sure what Emily got but Talaya got $150 k to defect ORU. I will say that if Kelsi is looking to ORU to recruit their top players they are in deep do do!! They are 0-10 in conference. Come on Hogs leave our girls alone! 1

Taleyah and Emilee seem to be happy in Arkansas, but they would have been world-beaters at ORU. 1
Popular Post ORU82 Posted February 9 Popular Post Posted February 9 I got to watch this game close up and it only confirmed what I thought I was seeing from a distance, they are well coached fundamentally. We still have a long way to go, but I would like to think we are on our way there. I got to tell Coach this after the game, and she is very competitive and has the desire, drive and knowledge to get us there. Go Lady Eagles! 6 2
