Yeah, those were the days... When we lost Hankins, we lost the Kansas City market. That was the start of a different era for ORU basketball.
Keenan Henderson Posted March 10 Posted March 10 It is good thing ORU beat KC 3 times this season, as they are going to be a tough out from now on. Many schools are moving on to new coaches: Georgia Tech, Providence, Little Rock, San Diego, etc. It is hard to keep up with them all as they are constantly changing.

Keenan Henderson Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Interesting that OU kept Porter as Coach and decided to play in the Crown tournament tonight, almost 3 weeks after the SEC tournament finished. They started off looking rusty.

Keenan Henderson Posted May 20 Posted May 20 Mentioned Will Wade going back to LSU and now coaches are flipping out at his roster moves. He is getting guys from Europe Pro League that are like 25-26, bringing in a former Celtic who played in some preseason games, etc. The guy from the Europe Pro League was in the 2020 draft! Field of 68 basically told him off and cursed him out. They are saying he is ruining college basketball and is just out of control. Just when we thought college basketball could not get any crazier. They might as well call it NBA minor league. Can ORU bring Max back? He must have some years left.
Keenan Henderson Posted June 22 Posted June 22 NCAA champ Michigan just lost Dusty May to the NBA and could promote former OK State coach Mike Boynton. Mike was up down at OK State, leading them to one NCAA tournament and 2 NIT's but seems to make the most sense at this late date in the off season.

I would expect that he is being paid north of $400,000 after taking the program to the NCAA tournament again. Signing a contract extension doesn't preclude from the coach leaving for another, higher-paying position as long as the buyout is not exorbitant. Usually the school signing the new coach will cover the cost of the buyout anyway.
