Keenan Henderson Posted December 29, 2025 Posted December 29, 2025 The NCAA is staring to let guys who were drafted into the NBA come back to college. Baylor has a guy that was drafted two years ago, who now is eligible as a 21 year old freshman. He never played an NBA game but was on their summer league team. Louisville also has a guy who has been in the G League for two years (Landon Johnson) and is redshirting but will eligible next season. What are your thoughts on players going pro and getting drafted but then coming back to college? I have no words but how could the NCAA allow this, it is not good for the game. They need some guideline or at least say: go into the draft/test the waters and if you are not selected then come back to college. If you are drafted and play in a pro league then how can you still get 4 years in college? Crazy 1
Bogus Smith Posted December 29, 2025 Posted December 29, 2025 It appears that the NCAA has taken the position that any rules that they put into place for eligibility of a student-athlete will be struck down by the court system, so they will let everyone come back and play, even if they were paid to play at another level. Frankly, the college game has become another pay-for-play league and, in the case of G-League and other minor/foreign leagues out there - they can generate more money and possible endorsement opportunities to play at the college level if they are not going to make it in the NBA or a premier foreign basketball league. College sports is becoming a sad state of affairs due to the progressive interpretations of amateurism vs. professional sports that will infiltrate to the AAU and below levels eventually. Parents will unfortunately be extorting their children for their own personal and financial gains, which will further erode the family units in our disadvantaged communities in our society. 2
Keenan Henderson Posted January 2 Author Posted January 2 I am surprised that Scott Drew and Baylor are bringing in some former pro at midseason. You would think they would redshirt him but they seem to be in desperation mode. If they guy is an an all star (James Ninija) and the Bears make a run to the Final Four then how will teams take it? I wonder what Paul Mills thinks of his former mentor? It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
Otis 83 Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Does this explain the 42 year old that North Dakota started the other night?

Keenan Henderson Posted January 17 Author Posted January 17 James N. who started off this topic and was drafted 31st in the NBA draft has looked very average at Baylor. He may be their 8 or 9th best player, even though he has professional experience in the Euro League. It does bring up a point: these players who were drafted and played overseas come back to college, then can they still be re-drafted into the NBA? He many times can you be drafted?
