Most amazing stat of the game: 92 points were scored on the East side of the basketball court tonight, 48 points on the West. 🤣

Most amazing play of the game: Ofri crashing the boards for a momentum-building, crowd-pumping put-back slam! 💥

The guys responded very well to hard times and that is good sign moving forward.  It would have been easy to just drop your head after the first half and just mail it in.  Heck, at halftime I was ready to come on the sports forum and say you are fired to CB 😀!

If you have access to it, watch the post game interview with Coach Barnett.  First of all, you will love the enthusiasm, energy and confidence.  Secondly, he changed the locker room code to 5817 because we were outscored 58-17 in the paint against Weber State.  Love that!

Even better, he will now change the code to 2826 since ORU won the battle in the paint tonight! 👍 And Otis, you're padding our stats - it was 58-16 at Weber State! 🤣

In the first half we couldn't get ANYTHING going inside. Shots were blocked or the ball turned over on almost every effort to go inside. It was a complete reversal in the second half. Play in the paint was stellar, and ORU took away the inside game for Montana State. ORU clearly looked like the better team in the second half.

Now if we can just keep this momentum going . . .

Last night just shows how up and down this team has been all year. It may be that way all year/season.  ORU may not be the most talented, athletic or tallest but they play with a lot of heart.  It looks like now they have a week off for finals and a cupcake at home next Saturday.

I liked HCKB's statement in the post-game interview when Connor Clark pointed out that we only had 16 3-pt attempts, but we have been averaging about 30 per game. He said something like: If the 3's aren't falling, we'll find another way to win. He also emphasized how important their defensive effort was in this win.

Now you're talking coach, less 3's if they aren't dropping and the importance of DEFENSE! Music to our ears. Now let's build on that second half and keep that defensive emphasis and not just fall back into relying on the 3's even/especially when they aren't dropping. But most importantly, let's keep that level of intensity and effort (not for a half every third or fourth game) but consistently.  The Eagles showed resilience last night, hopefully they now understand the level of intensity needed to compete and win-let's keep improving and moving forward.  Last night the Eagles played with Pride!!

Most underrated player/stat of the game has to be Baron Smith Jr., he only sees the floor for 8 minutes and records 6(!) rebounds, 1 assist, and a block.  Tragically, he seems to have some struggles scoring points (only shooting 28.6% so far, and most of those I can remember are right around the basket), but almost grabbing one rebound per minute makes your presence known!
