Popular Post TrueBlue82 Posted October 27, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2025 I absolutely LOVE what ORU Golf is doing this week. ORU is hosting a 12-team tournament, inviting top-tier teams from power conferences. Eight of the twelve teams are ranked amongst the top 50 teams in the country. To top it off, the tournament is being held at the prestigious Southern Hills Country Club, site of multiple PGA majors. With the caliber of the teams and the historic venue, this has to be considered among the elite college golf tournaments of the season, and ORU is the host school. Just look at this lineup (with national ranking): New Mexico (11) Auburn (16) Oklahoma State (17) Texas Tech (20) Arizona (30) Washington (34) SMU (42) Northwestern (47) Baylor Missouri Marquette Oral Roberts With round two of three nearly complete, ORU has proven that it has a very talented team (and the players have also gained the value of pre-tournament course knowledge), as they currently sit in a tie for 4th place. This places the Golden Eagles ahead of four nationally ranked teams. A tournament like this raises the stature of the ORU Golf program, gives our team confidence that they can compete with the big boys, and serves as a great recruiting tool for future prospects. Very thankful for the sponsors who made this happen! 6 1 1
TrueBlue82 Posted October 28, 2025 Author Posted October 28, 2025 As an update, the Golden Eagles faltered in the final three holes and fell into eighth place. Six teams were unable to complete their rounds before dark, including Arizona and Washington, which are currently one stroke ahead of ORU. As a result, ORU could move up one or two spots before the third round begins as teams complete their second round early tomorrow morning,
TrueBlue82 Posted October 28, 2025 Author Posted October 28, 2025 ORU moved up to a VERY respectable 6th place as other teams completed the second round early this morning. Final round in progress…
