Bogus Smith Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Just for @TrueBlue82!! Mark your calendars for the first week in December.
Dave Connor Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Nice video. My wife & I are looking forward to watching ORU's WBB again this year.
TrueBlue82 Posted August 9 Posted August 9 Wednesday, November 19 - ORU WBB at Nebraska. The Huskers host NDSU three days earlier and Omaha in early December, so this could be an early season gauge of how ORU will contend in the Summit.
titansforever Posted August 18 Posted August 18 Women's non-conference schedule is up, too! https://oruathletics.com/news/2025/8/18/womens-basketball-oruwbb-finalizes-2025-26-nonconference-schedule.aspx 1
Bogus Smith Posted August 19 Author Posted August 19 Four guarantee games - OSU, Nebraska, Kansas, UNT. That will be a tough schedule. I am really interested to see how this team gels and how the coaches coach with this group. There are some very talented ladies on this team that will surprise some.

Jalei is an important piece, but the others need to step up so that she is not the opposing team's focus on defense. I don't think she will as there are some other very good players in the mix this year - including Anna Trusty for one - that will need to be defended on the offensive side of the ball. 1

The other teams will go after Jalei. Our ladies need to play tough. Let's take the Summit!

Nah.....not this year. It may have worked well for the team to have a sparkplug coming off the bench, but it wasn't her choice. 1
TrueBlue82 Posted October 26 Posted October 26 I saw on X that ORU won their WBB exhibition held yesterday 95-61, after leading 56-28 at the half. No box score was provided, so I don’t have any details on who the five starters were or which of the newcomers contributed in a big way. Anyone attend and/or hear reports about the game?
#1 Fan Posted October 26 Posted October 26 I didn’t keep stats but the starters were. Gentry Baldwin, Anna Trusty, Jalei Oglesby, A’Maya Holton & Kayten Donley First off the bench were Ari Gorden, Preslee Hartsock, Azailah Funches, Hannah Coons As expected, the team leaders at this time are Baldwin & Oglesby. The team had a lot of energy. Everybody played and contributed. The coaches have options going forth. The high scores were Oglesby 20pts?, Trusty 19pts?, several others had 10+pts (Baldwin, Holton and ?) Oglesby led in rebounds 9? 3 1
TrueBlue82 Posted November 10 Posted November 10 Watched a bit of the ORU-OSU game on ESPN+, as the Pokes began the game with an explosive 39-8 run and proceeded to steamroll the Golden Eagles 112-62. ORU was not only completely outmatched (which is not unexpected playing a Top 25 team), but the offensive scheme (if there was one) fell totally apart. Case in point: OSU scored 43 field goals with 30 assists; ORU notched FOUR assists on 24 made baskets. The only way the Golden Eagles could score was on one-on-one isolation plays, with little or no teamwork involved. Coach Anderson has a fairly young and new team, which will require some time to gel. It will be interesting to see how ORU fares next Thursday at Ohio Valley Conference member Lindenwood (near St. Louis). Lindenwood played tough today in a 76-63 loss at 16th ranked Baylor, so the Lions will definitely present a challenge, but it shouldn't be as overwhelming as today in Stillwater. 2
theeagleman5 Posted November 17 Posted November 17 ORU loses at Lindenwood (???)....not good....hopefully the ladies pull it together for TU tonight...GO BLUE!!!
TrueBlue82 Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Old Titan mentioned that ORU-TU MBB matchups are usually a "rockfight". Last week's MBB Mayor's Cup was anything BUT a rockfight, so tonight the WBB Mayor's Cup decided to claim the rockfight title. Ugly, ugly game tonight, with very few possessions not interrupted by an official's whistle. TU lead for most of the first half, but ORU took control in the third and fourth quarters to lead by ten with 4:44 to play, which gave the Golden Eagles a 98.3% ESPN win probability. And then the offense went silent for four minutes, allowing TU to push the game into overtime. The Golden Hurricane owned the overtime session, running out to a 78-69 win, ending the game on a 32-13 run. Here are some of the brutal stats... 65 fouls were called (37 on ORU). ORU had four starters foul out (two in regulation, two in overtime), and the fifth starter ended with four fouls. Tulsa had two starters foul out. On one ORU possession in the second half, Tulsa was called for four fouls. Jalei Oglesby (who surpassed 1,000 points for her ORU career last week) was in foul trouble all night, played only 22 minutes and scored 4 points on 2-12 shooting before fouling out. Tulsa had 29 turnovers; ORU with 24. TU shot nearly as many free throws (41) as they did field goals (49). Tulsa's 6-1 power forward scored 27 points and pulled down 18 rebounds, and hooked her opponent with her offside arm on almost every spin move under the basket, with no fouls called. ORU had a chance to win it in regulation, shooting two free throws down by one with one second left, but the second FT caromed off the rim, leading to overtime. Just a truly horrendous week for both ORU MBB and WBB programs, and no basketball Mayor's Cups now reside at 81st and Lewis. 1 4
titansforever Posted November 18 Posted November 18 You're right; it was a HORRIBLE game. And as many times as the players got knocked down, I was waiting for someone to break an arm or leg or tear an ACL or get a concussion. I left before it ended because I was so disgusted with the whole thing. 1

Just a truly horrendous week for both ORU MBB and WBB programs, and no basketball Mayor's Cups now reside at 81st and Lewis. This was a disaster of a game. It took three hours to play with all the fouls and trips to the monitor to review what the officials had just called. There was no flow or rhythm to the game whatsoever. Both teams had to play under these circumstances, but neither team could determine what a charge or a block was. Almost every time that there was contact, there was a whistle. That officiating crew should never have the opportunity to be on the floor of a D-I contest again (at least as a team). Each one of them should be paired with a more veteran crew so that they can learn the pace of play and what constitutes a foul. It is too bad that both ORU and Tulsa had to endure such a game. 2
