theeagleman5 Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Looks like a lovely weather weekend in Tulsa for this important 3 game series with the Bears....a sweep would be fantastic but nothing can be taken for granted with this bunch of Golden Eagles....hoping for some big crowds at Chapman Park.....GO BLUE!!!! 1
TrueBlue82 Posted May 9 Posted May 9 This weekend’s series with Northern Colorado presents one of those “all or nothing” scenarios for ORU. The Golden Eagles’ lifetime record against UNC is 15-1-1, with the loss occurring in our most recent game in Greeley. While the two teams ARE literally “in the same league”, they are not “in the same league” competitively. Therefore, while a sweep would be fantastic (as noted by Eagleman5), anything less than a sweep would be absolutely devastating. If ORU takes care of business, and the Bizon steal a game or two from the Tommies in Saint Paul, next weekend could be VERY interesting. 1

Northern Colorado's RPI is 268 and their ELO ranking is 255 compared to ORU at 108 and 145 respectively. This little table is also indicative of that fact Record by Quadrant Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 Northern Co 0-0 2-2 5-10 10-16 ORU 4-7 0-1 5-6 18-5 Pitching Matchups have partially announced as we face the TBD brothers again this weekend. RHP Easton Teel (4-2, 3.18) vs. TBD RHP Nathan Love (6-6, 3.36) vs. TBD RHP Brendan Asher (1-2, 6.46) vs. TBD 1
theeagleman5 Posted May 10 Author Posted May 10 Excellent pitching tonite for the Good Guys in a 4-1 win....one down two to go....

Col. got their only run (2nd inning) after: single/HBP/HBP/Walk. That part was NOT excellent. Still, a W! ...which is all that matters at this point. 1
theeagleman5 Posted May 10 Author Posted May 10 Geez, Gripper...just 1 run 6 hits given up by Teel and Patton...maybe our standards are just a tad high???

You didn't miss much, @Texasgrip .....they "ran out" of the $1 hot dogs and started selling their normal $5 hot dogs by the second inning. The old bait-and-switch mode of marketing. Not a good look for ORU athletics or Sodexo. They probably need some caveats like, "while supplies last" and/or "limit four dogs per person" as they were selling hot dogs to some by the bag. 1
Otis 83 Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Love has an uncharacteristically choppy start and exits the game in the 5th down 3-2. However the offense responds in the bottom of the frame with 3 2 out runs so far. Make it 4 runs. ORU 6 No Co 3
theeagleman5 Posted May 10 Author Posted May 10 Nice 7-3 win but ORU owes the fans a $1 dog day tomorrow in the home finale. PS...over 900 fans according to box score.....was today graduation at ORU or last Saturday???

Heck I’ll kick in some $ so we don’t have a bad look! Why not do $1 dogs every other game to get more cheeks in the seats!

TrueBlue82 Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Big day at Chapman Park today: Mother’s Day Senior Day A win would make Ryan Folmar the coach with the most wins in ORU baseball history, eclipsing Larry Cochell. A win (or NDSU loss) would clinch the #1 seed for the Summit League tournament. A win (with an NDSU win), would place ORU and UST in a virtual dead heat for the regular season title with one week remaining. 2

theeagleman5 Posted May 11 Author Posted May 11 More Solid pitching at Chapman today with Good Guys up 7-1 in the 8th.... looks like Bears will go home empty handed.... 1 1
ORU82 Posted May 11 Posted May 11 While are we leaving this guy on the mound? This is brutal to watch. Finally coach pulls him but the damage is already done.
