Keenan Henderson Posted September 21, 2025 Posted September 21, 2025 Now that the roster is complete and we have had some time to digest it. I wonder what Coach Barnett's purpose was in picking the guys he signed. As a young first year coach it would be interesting to hear his reasoning on building a new team. Is it just sign the best guys available, look for a variety of players who can play multiple positions, or someone who needs low NIL money? Usually, a coach has a system and is looking for guys that fit within that boundary but with a new coach it could be different. We may never know but it is fun to analyze.
Keenan Henderson Posted October 7, 2025 Posted October 7, 2025 ORU now has 14 players listed on its roster according to the Eagles website. Landon Jordan is no longer listed, which is a loss to the frontcourt. OT mentioned he was not at the open practice. Any ideas what happened?
Dave Connor Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 When a player gets red-shirted, is he removed from the roster? Just wondering if that's why he was removed from the roster.
Keenan Henderson Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 Jordan was a graduate player from Huntington, so it would be very surprising if they red-shirted him. Maybe he just decided to move on from basketball and get a job/start his life. It is a loss because now the frontcourt is very thin and I hope Baron Smith from North Texas is recovered from his injury because the Eagles are going to need him to give some depth off the bench in the frontcourt.
Old Titan Posted October 22, 2025 Author Posted October 22, 2025 Confirmed at the Courtside Countdown that Jordan is no longer part of the program and is either leaving school or has already left. Without getting too far into the weeds, suffice it to say the reasons were: not academic not athletic not financial not criminal not illegal not excusable Considering this is ORU with all that entails, we could try to connect the dots re: possible offenses, but why speculate? What's done is done. Just wishing Landon future success in his athletic and/or career endeavors. 1
