REPORTED TRANSFERS FROM ORU Sir Issac Herron (Louisiana Tech) Josh Jones (North Dakota) JoJo Moore (Tulane) 13 on the list (assuming Carlos is a returner - he graduates tomorrow with one year of eligibility left). Interesting that none of our players were able to make the jump to a P4 school - just a lateral move for probably more money. I expect them to have similar years in their new surroundings - contributing to their team but with the same skill sets.
Old Titan Posted May 2, 2025 Author Posted May 2, 2025 ...before anyone gets too worked up in MAY about roster numbers, available scholarships, who's gonna start or get minutes, etc., consider the following: it's MAY verbal commits hold about as much weight as a political promise; nobody is official till they "sign on the line which is dotted" (Glengarry Glen Ross - Google it). verbal commits who have yet to be announced by ORU as "signed" or "official": McGrady, Turner, Yamanouchi-Williams even in today's world, guys must be academically eligible once the season starts, even if they've "signed" Carlos Rosario is listed as returning simply because he didn't enter the transfer portal; for all I know he may be winging back to the Dominican Republic following graduation to enjoy Cuba libres poolside as a former D1 basketball player and...it's MAY 1 1
Keenan Henderson Posted May 3, 2025 Posted May 3, 2025 With basically a new team, there will be a lot of unknowns this off season. Every team in college basketball is asking did we get better this off season? For ORU that would seem like a no brainer after going 7-23 but can they rebound/play defense is always the big question. Whoever makes the top 8 and plays most of the minutes on the floor will need to improve from wherever they played last season. Harper and Y2 Wiliams have shown in the past they can contribute at the D1 level, but the rest are larger unknown.
ORU82 Posted May 4, 2025 Posted May 4, 2025 Anyone know where Braeden Moore, Mathok Majok and Jackson Skipper are going to end up? Are they still with us?

I don’t know but I would love to have Mathok Majok back as a rim protector. He was really starting to improve and Braeden Moore might really improve under the right coach! 1 2
titansforever Posted May 5, 2025 Posted May 5, 2025 I hope Braeden comes back, and that he gets more playing time. He didn't get a chance to shine last season. 1

TrueBlue82 Posted May 5, 2025 Posted May 5, 2025 It is interesting that the ORU Athletics website still includes the following on their 2025-26 roster: B. Moore Skipper Robinson Navarro Majok Rosario From my understanding, the first five are still in the transfer portal, and Rosario has a remaining year of eligibility, if he wishes. This certainly doesn't mean that they are all staying (especially since there's not enough room on the roster as ORU has either signed or retained twelve other players). But, it probably means that ORU hasn't yet received confirmation that they are NOT staying (as JoJo Moore, Herron and Jones have been lifted from the roster). Lots of moving parts still in motion! 2

2014Grad Posted May 12, 2025 Posted May 12, 2025 Thanks for adding the blue OT. I’ll feel a lot better about the roster when I see Yamanouchi-Williams in blue! His experience playing(and even just practicing) at the mid major(+)level will be needed - he’s my way too early impact player prediction. 1

Keenan Henderson Posted May 26, 2025 Posted May 26, 2025 The ORU athletics website has updated the 25-26 roster and given out numbers to the nine guys listed. Carlos Rosario was left off along with various other newcomers (McGrady, Y2, and some of the other late additions). Of course, this will most likely be updated as time goes but the McGrady one is surprising since he was the first to commit. Since the website has already listed these guys numbers, it makes me think they must be on campus doing some light workouts. Luke Gray is the only listed returning player. This may be the lowest returning players ORU has had in the history of the program. I have followed the Eagles off and on for 25 years and cannot remember them only returning one player who averaged 3 points and 3 rebounds from the previous season. 1

Keenan Henderson Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 Looking at this roster, it is made up mostly of Coach Barnett's guys. Used to, a coach had to wait for 2-3 years to build his own team but now with the transfer portal CB could get his players right away. I think this team may have to learn how to win ugly. They do not look exciting on paper, most likely will not have preseason all Summit Legue guys and hopefully will play with a chip on their shoulder (overlooked players tend to do that). There is not much expected of them, so why not go out and prove everyone wrong.

I can't imagine who else's guys they would be, considering there were virtually no returning players to work with. Actually, that may not be fair (funny maybe, but perhaps unwarranted). We don't know (well, I don't know; maybe some of you know) whether the guys who transfered all left of their own accord, or if they were - for all intents and purposes - "cut". Kind of a "chicken-or-the-egg?" question, but this much is certain: we got all new chickens this season... 1 1
