ORU40 Posted March 21 Posted March 21 5 years, $600k per year. Calipari the men's coach, Musick the women's. From the Summit to the SEC! Thanks for the great job you did for us coach, and all the best!! 3
Mr_TwoFive Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Money Talks!!!!!! Well deserved though. The SEC will be bit of a change, but there's no doubt she'll have the $$$ backing her. Should be fun to watch! Happy for her and the staff -- all very solid people. 2 2
jmg1984 Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Smart move. Leave while your a hot commodity. Team is losing a lot of experienced players this year
theeagleman5 Posted March 21 Posted March 21 After that no show last night at Missouri State....adios, coach!!....Guessing they weren't going to pay her more than Billy Wilson....heck, she might not make more than the clean up crew at the Prayer Tower.....it's a sad day.....but we can always dial up Jerry Finkbiner.....thanks for the memories!!
ORUSwagger Posted March 21 Posted March 21 The feedback from Arkansas fans is a mixed bag. Hope she does well.

Team is losing a lot of experienced players this year Only three were seniors. I'm sure more will leave now. Lots of NIL money to buy a team in Fayette Nam. As we have said many times, we can't compete in a financial arms race with the Power 4 schools - regardless of how much money we want to pay. I hope the best for Kelsi, Josh and their family. We are grateful for what they have been able to accomplish at ORU in a short period of time. Hopefully we can build a culture and team of the same caliber again here at ORU. 4
MrsSmith Posted March 21 Posted March 21 I wonder if Cophie will be considered. I really like the Andersons!! Or Bill Annan. 1

2014Grad Posted March 21 Posted March 21 A couple players will likely follow her as well unfortunately. Wow 600k is ALOT! It really shows there are haves and have nots and we are definitely the latter financially… 1

I would assume their assistants would make anywhere from 150k-220k each at Arkansas. Hard to pass that up. From what I hear, Cophie is a MAJOR asset to Musick -- she does a lot. I would think she's taking her right hand woman with her.
TrueBlue82 Posted March 21 Posted March 21 The day that the Golden Eagles throttled the Hogs in Fayetteville, I thought “that win is nice, but it’s going to come back and bite us”. Yep… 5

She is dynamic and she has good people around her. Wayne, Bill and Hayden are excellent assistant coaches. The likelihood of continued success is very high. 1

I imagine there's some hesitation about hiring the well-liked assistant right now after we did that with the men's program. 2

Would that look weird or awkward if the head coach moves to another school and not one assistant moves with her??
