Max Abmas - Salt Lake City Stars

The announcers at summer league still cannot pronounce Abmas!  Max had a good first half tonight scoring vs Washington and also made some winning plays that may not show up in the stat line.  His teammate had a shot blocked that hung in the air and Max tipped it to a teammate for a bucket.  Nothing speculator but still effective.

Even if Max does not make it in Utah, these summer games allow him to showcase his talents to other teams in the NBA, too.

LOVE the fact that Max's sojourn with the Longhorns hardly resonated outside the Lone Star State!

Max got to play 37 minutes in their last game on Friday night and played pretty well with 13 pts and 8 assists.

Be interesting to see if he plays in GLeague again this year or heads overseas to make some $$. Ideally, he would get a 2-way contract but don't see that happening in Utah with all of their young guys.

Max could be trade bait as well to another team that needs a guard that can share and score.  I hope he finds a place where he feels he can contribute (and maximize his value).

After their horrible start in their two summer league events, I think the Ainge boys realized they needed an adult such as Max to facilitate the intricacies of running their offense (i.e. getting the ball over the half-court line without dribbling it off their foot, or hurling 35-foot airballs as the shot clock ran out).

Hopefully, he got something like $20-an-hour extra during that time, for babysitting... 🫣

Max is not signed to a standard NBA contract so he cannot be traded, but any team that wants to sign him to a 2-way deal or standard contract can. You are seeing several players from the summer league that played well: but just no roster spots on that team, signing 2-way deals with different teams. If any team in the NBA is interested in him, they could sign him today.

Hope his agent is aggressive and trying to shop him around if that is the case.

Max' agent is Josh Beauregard-Bell with the Wasserman firm, and his client list is below w/ player name, current team (Max is currently unsigned), position, ht, wt, DOB, age, and current NBA contract status or prior contract and yrs of NBA exp (note the 2 players with overseas teams Wright & Williams, were on prior NBA 2-way deals were 1-year deals in 2019 & 2022 & Howard's 2-way was in 2021):

His agent rep's 9 players, 2 on NBA deals, 2 on overseas contracts and 5 unrestricted free agents. Hopefully, he finds Max a good landing spot.

They has?

Or, they "hazz"?

I'm sure it's grammatically correct, but it just sounds weird... 🤪
