Summit League Soccer in NCAA Tourney

I know that Golden Eagle fans were very disappointed that the ORU Men's soccer team finished third in the Summit and did not advance to the League Championship, especially after high hopes entering the season.

The silver lining is that we now have confirmation that the Summit League is a very strong soccer conference.  After Kansas City defeated Denver in the Championship game, the league received two bids to the NCAA tournament field of 48.  Even better, after the first two rounds, both Denver and Kansas City have advanced to the Sweet Sixteen!

Denver will play Indiana and KC will play Pittsburgh this weekend for an opportunity to advance to the Elite Eight.  Pitt is one of SEVEN teams from the ACC that are still alive in the bracket.
