Oral Roberts senior Elisha Turek was named women's Mid-Continent Conference Player of the Year.

Turek led the conference in both scoring (17.8) and rebounding (10.8). She was the only player to average a double-double (double figures in two statistical categories) throughout the season, and one of only two to average a double-double in conference play.

She led the league in double-doubles (15), 20-point games (12) and recorded 10 or more rebounds in a game 17 times. She is the league's all-time leading rebounder (1,121) and ranks third on the all-time scoring list (1,995).

"It's a really nice honor for Elisha," ORU coach Jerry Finkbeiner said. "She's very deserving of the honor."

Turek will lead ORU into the Mid-Con Conference Tournament this weekend at the Union Multipurpose Activity Center. ORU's quarterfinal game is at 2:30 p.m. Sunday against Missouri-Kansas City.

Turek is a four-time selection to the Mid-Con first team.

She was named player of the week five times this season and ranks in the Top 10 in the conference in field goal percentage (54.5), free throw percentage (61.9), steals 91.72) and minutes played per game (32.9).
