ORUTerry
The article talks about changes allowing schools to award more scholarsips based upon a 3.3 gpa or higher - after one year of matriculation. The concern is that large schools could stockpile players. This rule would have allowed Meloy to be granted a scholarship this year (I think) instead of having to pay his way. It also talks of rewards ($100,000) for those schools meeting the APR (academic performance rates) and penalizing those who don't meet the standards. Does anyone know if they modified the rules to accomodate baseball? http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/2005-10-27-scholarship-rules_x.htm?POE=SPOISVA
