He will redshirt this year and be eligible for three season, although he will be draft-eligible in 2025.

theeagleman5
Unfortunately...ORU missed out on this guy....TheEagleman's now 18 yr old grandson currently has a string of 17 scoreless innings going for Cedar Creek HS in Egg Harbor, NJ.....he tries to extend that streak vs. Atlantic City HS tomorrow afternoon and weather permitting I will be in the stands for that one....Nolan is headed to the College of Charleston in the fall....
Bogus Smith
Congratulations to Nolan! Charleston, SC is a beautiful city. However, @theeagleman5, don't lose hope. There's this thing called the transfer portal that Nolan can use to better his lot in life at ORU.
theeagleman5
Would have loved to have seen Nolan go to 7777 So. Lewis but he got a really nice academic scholarship at C of C and he fell in love with the city during a February visit.....it came down to Rutgers, Seton Hall and Charleston so it was a no brainer.....he's a pretty good pitcher and having fine Senior year but not sure he's good enough to play for a D-1 program like the C of C Cougars but he is an A student...we shall see when he gets there.....they have a very strong program probably better than ORU.....Nolan is a fine young man and last fall accepted Christ as has Lord and Savior during an invitation at his grandmother's funeral service.....so he has that going for him.....and his older brother Bennett graduates this week from U. of Colorado.....

Bogus Smith
Next year's catcher(?), Wailele Kane-Yates, is coming off a stellar Juco season for the Yavapai Roughriders. His sophomore campaign included the following: Earned First-Team All-Conference and First-Team All-Region honors… YC's backstop and cleanup hitter played in 51 games this season and followed up his freshman campaign with an even more impressive sophomore campaign with a .354 batting average, 43 runs scored, 56 hits, 13 doubles, 13 homers, 42 RBI's, 17 walks, an OBP of .441 and SLG% of .684. Kane-Yates tied the team and conference lead in homers with Nelson and finished fourth in the conference in SLG%. Behind the dish, Kane-Yates gunned down 10 would-be base stealers this season while holding a .986 fielding percentage. I'm still optimistic for the 2024 campaign, but our incoming class will be something to look forward to as well. This year, we are getting hot at just the right time for another deep drive into the NCAA postseason if we keep our focus and the team does its job.
