He told his story at the board breakfast a couple of months ago...you guys skipped! 😆

The out of towners want to hear it though.  I've actually heard a short version.

Game time moved up a couple hours due to rain in the Tulsa area, I would guess.....let's see if they can get the full 9 innings  in....so just asking....let's say the rain stops the game before completion....is the contest picked up at that point on Saturday afternoon?  is the game considered complete if at least 5 innings have been played or is it still resumed at the stoppage point the following day?  Anybody know the Summit League rules on weather stoppages mid game?

Usually, it is an official game after five innings (4-1/2 if the home team is leading).  After that, if the game is tied when play is stopped, the game is usually suspended until the next day and is picked up with the same people on base and the same batter in the box (pitchers are usually different though).  If one team is leading though, I believe it will be an official game and the team ahead wins.

So how about if less than 5 innings have been played....do they pick up from where they left off the next day or start over???

Sometimes they will suspend the game from the point it stopped; sometimes they will declare the game as unplayed and start from the beginning and all the stats are erased from the game.  The former usually than the latter.

Nope. Taking my son to Outback for his H.S. graduation dinner after the game. Gotta save room! 😁

BLAST! Line drive homerun by McMurray!

Very solid 5-3 win today.  Excellent pitching by Hall and Denton, an error-free defense, and three BOMBS from McMurray (2) and Cox.  Eagles go for the series win tomorrow.

Outback??? Come on, Grip...no Mahogany Prime??? 🤑.....solid win to open the series today so the pressure is all on the Jacks tomorrow afternoon...if they can't win the next two games at JLJ then the regular season title is pretty much wrapped up.....short of a monumental May collapse ORU will be back hosting the tourney in 2024.....so let's get it done again tomorrow.....GO BLUE!!! :tb-white:

Another series win for ORU which should just about wrap up the Summit regular season....may as well bring out the brooms and finish off SDSU on Sunday....super pitching today by Gollert and Widener in the 10-3 victory.....five Golden Eagles with multiple hit games and both catchers hit HRs.....and Good Guys came from behind late with three consecutive 3 run innings.....now 31-11 (16-1).....:shield-logo:  beats :sdsu:

Today was an absolutely perfect day at JLJ; the weather was gorgeous, 70 degrees without a cloud in the sky, good attendance and the Eagles got a win! You out of towners should jealous, today was a great day to be at JLJ!!

Thought the Eagles were in trouble after leaving the bases loaded in the first AND the second innings, especially after SDSU took a 2-1 lead midway through the game.  Not to worry… another 10-3 win.  👍

The Jacks lost their star player, Ryan McDonald, today on a freak accident.  An errant throw to McMurray at first caused the ball to bounce off the first base wall (cinderblocks) and McDonald made a move to second before realizing that McMurray was getting the ball bounced back to him REAL quick.

McDonald changed course quickly to first and tore his knee out with a scream and a yelp.  McMurray couldn't figure out where he needed to tag McDonald to make the out.  McDonald was having a stellar year, and will be out for 8-12 months as it looks like from his walking off gingerly.  Praying that the healing is quick and he gets back to the field with the same fervor as he was playing this year.

On the "very classy" front:  portulent Jackrabbit DH Nic Nelson doubled-down on his pretentious home run bat-flip in the top of the sixth inning by "flipping-off" a couple of vocal ORU fans as he dented home plate in his plod to the SDSU dugout for presumably more snacks.

ORU responded with three runs in the bottom of the frame enroute to the eventual 10-3 cakewalk.

Lesson to be learned by the young man:  Don't Poke The Eagle (and mix in a salad).
