Tirzah was in and out of the lineup and was inconsistent all season. She is definitely a difference maker when she is on her game, but I have to believe that there were some "chemistry" issues in this situation. Very understandable when there is a coaching change. Also, there may be some frustration with Trinity not seeing the floor more and the sisters are sticking together. Sorry to see them go, but wish them the best. I hope that they can enjoy the game at their new school.

Bogus Smith
Looks like she didn't play in 2022-23, so she probably has three years of eligibility left assuming she redshirted this year. The UA website has her listed as a guard. Her stat line as a freshman in 2021-22 was 26% FG, 25% 3-pt FG and 100% FT (2-2 at the line), with 1.2 pts/0.8 reb.

BlueGold
I haven't posted in a long time but when I saw the post from ORUAlum noting that Jalei Oglesby committed I wanted to add her tweet announcing her commitment, I hope she doesn't mind I don't know her personally, but I can remember her playing in the Tournament of Champions at the Mabee Center back in late December 2015 when she was a freshman at Howe HS, and I remember thinking, look at this little person lighting it up against some other school that was 4A or 5A, I can't remember, but holy smokes, she could really score. She's listed as 5-7 or 5-8 but she was probably 5-5 back then, and probably weighed 90 pounds soaking wet (maybe). There haven't been many players I've watched over the years that made me really pay attention like she did when she played, or to say holy smokes whenever she scored from long range, in particular. She went on the become one of the greatest scorers in Oklahoma girls basketball history for the 5-on-5 era, ranking third in points scored with 2,982 in her four years at Howe (a 2A school, but they might've been even A early on in her career there). She is also one of four female players with over 2,500 points and over 1,000 rebounds in Oklahoma girls basketball in the 5-on-5 era. I was shocked as I followed her career, while I was hoping that she would come to ORU, that even after winning a state championship in 2A at Howe as a senior and averaging over 29 points a game that season that she ended up signing with Arkansas Tech. I'm not a coach or an evaluator of talent and never have been, but I knew she could score, and rebound even for her size, and ORU needed both at the time, so why not? So she went to Arkansas Tech, a D-2 school, and suffered a season-ending knee injury during her freshman season (2019-20), and then played the following season, which was cancelled due to the COVID thing, and then injured her knee again and missed the entire 2021-22 season, before coming back and playing in every game this past season. And it was a really good season statistically for her, she averaged 20.6 points and 9.4 rebounds a game. She entered the transfer portal on March 16 so the process of being recruited and committing to ORU was really quick, and maybe it was quick because she already had a relationship with Coach Musick and Coach Anderson, since they were still at Southwestern Oklahoma State when she was at Arkansas Tech, and they were members of the same conference, and maybe the coaches even recruited her out of high school, although that I don't know. She said that Arkansas Tech doesn't offer a graduate degree that she needs, so it is ORU's gain, in my opinion, that they don't. I feel like for me her career has come full circle in a sense since I kept hoping that she would come to ORU when she graduated from high school, and now she's on her way. Very excited about it, and also excited to see what Ashlyn Sage brings, and who stays, and who else the staff might bring in. I'm still not completely sold on the system the coaches run defensively, it was a disaster for most of last season. Or at least the high scores that they allowed gave that impression. MrsSmith, I believe that Ariel Walker, Delaney Nix and Lauren Ramey are the seniors that have exhausted their eligibility. I also saw that Nena Taylor participated in senior day. Sorry for the long post

BlueGold
A couple of interesting names entered the portal earlier this past week, as both have former and current ORU connections: Makyra Tramble, who entered the portal for the first time before the start of last season and then committed to Okie State, she was recruited by and played for Coach Musick at SW Oklahoma State before Coach came to ORU. She is a former D-2 Player of the Year at SWOSU who averaged 3.7 ppg in limited playing time at OSU this past season. She's a 5-10 forward who was listed as a senior at OSU last season, so probably has one more season to play (most likely the covid one). Lexi Keys, who was recruited while in high school (Tahlequah) by the previous coaching staff. And it looked like she might sign with ORU but ended up signing with UT-Arlington, and then got a release when the head coach there at the time, Krista Gerlich, took the head coaching job at Texas Tech, and then signed with OSU. She started at OSU when current ORU assistant coach Bill Annan was the associate head coach under former coach Jim Littell, so there's a connection between them, obviously. She's a 5-7 guard who was listed as a junior and averaged 9.4 ppg last season. She's primarily a three-point specialist. Played at the same high school as ORU three-point shooting legend Delaney Nix. I haven't seen that any of the four ORU players that are in the portal (Tirzah Moore, Trinity Moore, Elayna Whitley and Elena Lijo) have committed to another school. Does anyone have any information about them, or about any other players that are coming or going? It's still early, per se, when it comes to the portal being open, and the spring signing period hasn't started yet, but a lot depends on who is staying, and that might not be known for a while. Bogus Smith
Outside of Tirzah, the other seven players are role players. Ruthie, Hannah, Nena, and Sara are staying and would expect that a team will be built around this core of players. There are already eight signees for 2023 that will augment this core with a few more to sign, I am sure.

Bogus Smith
Nice "get" for #ORUWBB! 2021-22 D-II Women's Player of the Year coming to ORU for her graduate year. Played for Kelsi at SWOSU and picked OSU over ORU last year. ORU has a lot of success getting some of these players after they see that the bigger pond isn't what it is cracked up to be. In 2022-23, Makyra played in 10 games and averaged 11 minutes per game, 3.7 ppg, 1.8 rpg, and 0.7 apg. I will bet that her transition to ORU's style of play will be a smooth one. ORU82
Here is the link to WVU's announcement of the signing of Tirzah. Good luck Tirzah and enjoy playing in the WVU Coliseum. Considering WVU is in the Big 12, she will be making annual trips to Stillwater, Norman, Lawrence and Manhattan as well as Fort Worth. I would love to see the Lady Mountaineers schedule a game with the Golden Eagles. Our men played in the Coliseum in 2011 and lost 78-71 in a very entertaining game with a lot of ORU people there to watch the game.
