Summit League Baseball is pathetic except for ORU....not one team except for the Good Guys above .500.....no reason that ORU shouldn't have the regular season title wrapped up by early May.....:tb-white:

Unfortunately competition is down this year. Yes the good guys should win the regular/post-season.

It would be nice to win a super-regional as well.

ORU (12-0) with a 3 game lead in the loss column over NDSU (6-3)....the Bison won 2 of 3 this past weekend over St. Thomas and are only 10-22 overall.....no excuse for the Good Guys not to win 2 of 3 up at Fargo next weekend and extend their regular season lead......but baseball can be strange sometimes.....still ORU should be ready for the next two Summit series vs. 2nd place NDSU and 3rd place SDSU......:tb-blue:

The weather is going to be miserable for baseball.  We do not play well in cold weather and NDSU will have a "home field advantage" of surviving a game in the weather that is forecasted.  We will be lucky to win the series this coming weekend.

My goodness, what horrible weather. I feel sorry for the people who have to live up there. Can you imagine trying to hit a baseball in that kind of weather?

Kelvin Torve was from Rapid City, SD. He hit .379 as a freshman, Jim Scherbenske was from North Dakota. Still ( I think)) holds the record for most triples in a game (2). By the way, Roger Maris was from North Dakota as well. He did all right.

The opening contest on Friday is actually a night game....who's bright idea was that???...From that forecast above it appears they may have to play a DH on Saturday......but Sunday will be a balmy 47 so maybe play a pair then.....🥶

The Good guys undefeated in SL play!

They saw what the men's BB team did this season and said to themselves, "We can top that!" 🙂  And now, please--let us win at the regionals and super regionals! It's high time we got back to the CWS.

North Dakota State played its 39th game of the season yesterday - and their FIRST official home game.  At least six previous home games had to be moved to a neutral site because of weather and/or field conditions.  What a brutal place to field a collegiate baseball program.

NDSU shares an all-grass field with the local minor league team and are at the mercy of that club's ground crew, which according to Bison fans is not a very motivated bunch when it comes to getting the field ready-for-play when their season does not start until late May.

In related news:  according to "RPI Update", with Saturday's win ORU clinched a berth in the Summit League tournamant!  LOL

No bias here from the SL social media team pumping up the 2nd place team 😂

Might be the first time I’ve ever heard of a second place team having a lead, except in the wild card standings.

Baseball now plays the last place teams in the Summit (UST & WIU) with an overall combined record of 12-58.  No more league home games for this season, so we have seen the last of the Summit League at JLJ until 2024.  The race now is for the #4 slot in the post season tournament.  three teams are tied for fourth place at 5-10.  I don't know who has a tie-breaker, but whoever it is will get ORU in the first round.  The magic number for ORU to win at least a share of the Summit League regular season championship is two wins by ORU or two losses by NDSU - or a combination of the two.
