Brown is hitting all the Summit League teams. Omaha will be a good team in probably two years with him and Crutchfield as Coach’s of the Mavs

Due to the suddeness and the odd time of year, this smacks of being "for cause".

He's reputedly a hard-case on and off the floor; time will tell if he did something to basically get himself fired.

Just guessing that Coach Mills hasn't received any calls from Villanova now that Jay Wright has retired......what a bombshell that was....😮

It seems like some of the big name coaches are leaving: Jay Wright, Coach K and Roy Williams because of the changes in the game.  The older and more traditional coaches do not like the wild frenzy that is the transfer portal and the NIL deals.  College basketball is turning in to who can give the best offer (money) to the best players.  It has been for awhile but the NIL just made it more public.

Agree, Keenan....sounds like Jay has just had enough after 21 yrs at Nova and he coached at Hofstra prior to that....he just turned 60 and is an icon in the area of suburban Philly where TheEagleman lives...he's a really genuine guy unlike a couple of the others you mentioned above.....in fact, MrsEagleman went to HS with Jay Wright back in the day and he still holds the record for assists in a season at her alma mater.......she has a photo in one of her albums of Jay and a friend at the Senior Prom in like 1980 holding a beer.....lol.....🍺

It would be a lot harder to be a coach these days, especially Power 5 schools, because you are at the mercy of your players. I think a lot of coaches have lost most of the authority that they once had and just have to hope that players stick around. Otherwise you are trying to rebuild all the time.

Instantly becomes the most decorated head coach in the league; multiple NCAA appearances as head coach at New Mexico State and UNLV.

Having a coach with name recognition may also make them look even more attractive to the MVC, which, as I understand, has been courting UMKC to join the league.
