ORU is back to where they were last year, cannot seem to stop anyone.  Gave up an average of 99 points in these last two home games.  That will get you beat 10 out of 10 times.  USD had a layup line going most of the game or open three pointers.  Not sure what has happened to the defense, but it has gone out the window.

The only bright spot was Lacis on Senior Night: 15 points on 5-9 shooting.  Good for him.  Coach Mills had a lot of good things to say about him in the postgame conference: he is a great leader and good teammate.  Thank you, Francis, for all your hard work and help you have given ORU basketball in the last four years!

Was Lufile hurt at the end, might have tweaked an ankle?  Anyone know?

*sigh*

An average of 90 points in regulation surrendered in back-to-back home games to close the season.

This program has come full-circle in 365 days:  all offense, no defense.

Can defensive lightning strike twice in Sioux Falls?

Double-digit first-round exit otherwise.

I’m hitting the bottle with eagleman till next weekend.  Of course, my drink of choice after these last two games is Maalox. 🤢

ORU has really struggled at home in conference play, seemed flat most of time, expect for the Omaha game.  But they have been much better away from the Mabee Center.

Last year the defense improved in March because they started to force turnovers and had a desperation in guarding the opponent.  When the season is on the line, the defensive intensity must improve.

Another close loss, now 3-6 in games decided by five points or less.  Of course, missing ten throws did not help either.  Going to need to win some close one's in the Summit League Tournament.

If we play like we have in the last few games it will be 1 and done for us in the SLT.  The wheels have come off of the bus.  Pathetic!

Over 36 hours have passed and these past 2 losses still sting......a lot.....TheEagleman is just SMH at our subpar play at Mabee Center this season and the reason for it.....best student support in many a year and overall generally healthy except for whatever may have been ailing Max the past month or more.....and ORU played so well on the road.....if anybody has a theory I am willing to listen.....so we have a weeks wait until next Sunday at Sioux Falls against Western Illinois.....I honestly have no clue as to how ORU will perform.....this is a 3-6 game that the Good Guys should win....but based on recent play......right now TheEagleman would have to go with the Leathernecks......but still six days to ponder it......time for another brandy.....🥺😪😮

Obviously disappointed in the outcome Saturday night.  Who would’ve ever predicted that ORU would finish with a Summit record of 12-6, with a road record of 7-2 and home of 5-4! 😳

Free throws have been a strong suit for this team all year, but definitely impacted both games (negatively) this past weekend.  Max was 9-14 in the two games, which at 64% is nearly 25 percentage points lower than his season average. Many of his misses were short, which leads me to believe that he is totally exhausted from the battle scars of a 29 game season.

ORU could definitely catch lightning in a bottle again this year in Sioux Falls, but there are no leading indicators pointed In that direction.  In fact, the arrows are headed in the opposite direction, because ORU is a far worse team now than early in the Summit season.  The primary reason that the road record was better than the home record is that the schedule was heavily weighted towards home games at the end of the season.

Nothing ORU fans can do now except to “expect a miracle” in Sioux Falls! 😉

Max has to be exhausted. it's it wrong to have McBride bring the ball upcourt sometimes to rest max?

Recently, McBride has started playing point somewhat regularly to allow Max to play the SG role.
