If the new commish is as aggressive as he sounds about creating a conference broadcast/streaming network, it may represent a tempting option for those schools of similar size and geography to the SL membership.

If you’re target market is into Carhartt and Cracker Barrel that conference network would be too good to pass up.

Big game that should draw a big crowd at Mabee Center tomorrow night especially since we got no help from WIU last night and St. Thomas on Tuesday....the Blue Crew will need to be loud and raucous.....TheEagleman is still going over lots of game tape and pages of analytical data before making a prediction...it's going to be a tough call because this should be a close physical contest.....Max will need to come up huge........................                                        :shield-logo:  vs. Image result for UMKC Roos Logo. The Gilyard-Abmas match-up could be epic.  The diminutive guard did a pretty good job on Max in KC, but he's got a really short fuse.  Need to run him into a couple of Big Maple screens and see how he likes it.

ORU is -8.5 and TheEagleman is very surprised at that number...thought it would be 5 or 6....O/U is 150.5 which sounds reasonable....😎

The Eagles must get out to a good start in the first five minutes of tomorrow night's game.  ORU has looked off at home in the first half, since the Omaha game on Jan. 1st.   It seems like ORU needs a wakeup call before they find their groove in home games.  Hopefully Coach Mills has addressed this issue.  Why are they so flat in the first half of home games?  Good road teams are going to throw that first big punch to keep the crowd out of the game.

ORU has not played 40 minutes of good basketball for a month...we are overdue...its time to come out and kick A$$ from the opening tip...Good Guys have more talent than UMKC....but do we have more heart?...Everybody needs to show up but Max has to dominate and Eli needs to be physical and stay out of foul trouble. Let's get serious....💀

Conference opponents are slowing the game down against us. Many times they don’t begin their offensive sets until there are only 10 seconds left on the shot clock. That is wearing (both mentally and physically) on our players. And if we aren’t hitting shots, I think it gradually impacts us on the defensive side of the court.

I have also noticed that opponents are specifically attacking our smaller guards (Abmas, Phipps & McBride) by isolating them and posting them up. A lot of the times, they wait until a switch occurs so that our guard is defending a taller player and then they clear out and have that player post our guard up. Gotta solve this issue.

Unless Gilyard is hitting from outside, UMKC is one of the few teams in the league that you can get away with playing a zone against; curious to see if Coach Mills goes that route tonight, particularly if the bigs get into any foul trouble.

But, if he wants to speed up the tempo, might see Herron play a bit more as the point man on that full-court press or half-court trap that helped fuel the big second half comeback vs. Western Illinois.

Great points from Old Titan and ORUTerry.  It is hard to say if the press was really that successful against WIU in the 2nd half though.  We had a big comeback indeed but the press led to more easy buckets for WIU than it led to turnovers by WIU.

However, I would like to see a zone with Lufile permanently in the low post area.  I remember several times over the last few games when Lufile was covering a player at the 3 point line while another player drove around one of our small guards for an easy layup.  Keep Lufile down low and there will not be many easy layups.

We were very effective in forcing some tempo into the pace of play. We also got a big boost from it for about 5 minutes of play, until the started to figure it out and we’re getting open look after open look. It’s probably not something that should be employed for a full half, but I was very impressed with it and I think it could work really well in 5 minute increments.

TheEagleman has been nervous about this game all week.....but today TheEagleman has a calmness that can't be explained other than.....IN MILLS WE TRUST.....Coach has had a week to prepare the guys for UMKC and certainly has communicated the importance of this game on our home court.....as I said earlier it's been over a month since the Good Guys have put together 40 solid minutes...tonight is the night we have to do it.....we can't come out flat and fall behind by double digits....that's fatal against this opponent....and we need  contributions from all 8 of our main guys who get the minutes....Max can't start the game 0-8 or we are cooked.....and Eli has to stay out of foul trouble and dominate in the paint for at least 20-25 minutes .....not expecting 25 again from Lufile but double digits are needed....and 25+ from Max is mandatory.....this won't be a track meet as the Roos like to slow things down and make us work....but TheEagleman feels good about the Golden Eagles putting up a nice number with good shooting and smart play.....this should be a very entertaining contest and loud student support is required....OT and ORUTERRY have to be riding the officials all night.....so I feel good about this game....it won't be easy but i expect ORU to be in control and then pull away in the final few minutes for the cover......ORU 79 UMKC 69.....GO BLUE!!!  :tb-blue:

Do we need more examples of why McBride and Trey should not be on the floor together with Max? Got to get some height in there from Carlos or Kareem.

In such a big game like tonight, how does ORU come out with such little energy and confidence?  They start out down 21-7 before the fans even have time to get popcorn.  Now they have to spend the rest of the night fighting back to try and win.  Just head scratching. No real answers.  Maybe they need to get back on the road, seem to play much better away from the Mabee Center.

Max does not look like himself.  He has that wrap on his hand and is just struggling.  Too many turnovers and seems passive.
