Giving credit where credit is due, the ladies performed WAY BETTER in these last two games then they have the rest of the season with the possible exception of the 1st game with UNLV.  As a matter of fact, they looked like an entirely different team in these last two games.  Keep it up ladies.

  • 3 weeks later...

Need to give a quick shout-out on behalf of the Golden Eagle WBB team tonight, who picked up their first road win of the season with a gutty 69-66 victory at Abilene Christian, which came into the game with a 7-1 record.  This win also unofficially gives the women the championship of the ORU Thanksgiving Classic, as ORU and Abilene never played against each other in Tulsa, but both swept UALR and Arkansas State that November weekend.

In tonight’s game, the ladies dug themselves an early hole, but steadily came back and finally tied the game at the end of the third quarter. In the fourth, ORU led by seven late, but ran into some clutch shooting by the Wildcats and some dubious late game uncalled maulings that led to turnovers, but survived the onslaught.  Special mention to Keni Jo Lippe, who coolly shot a perfect 4-4 from the line in the last ten seconds of the game to secure the win.

The ladies begin Summit play next week, hosting the two South Dakota juggernauts, which will present a huge challenge.
