theeagleman5
If the Jacks are sitting at like 30-5 and lose the Summit Final to ORU or NDSU by a couple points then TheEagleman thinks they deserve a bid....they should be seeded 11 or 12....don't need another 8th place team from the ACC or SEC with an 18-13 record and not going anywhere...those teams had their shot in the conference tourneys.....people want to see the underdog Mid Majors who deserve a shot.....but the NCAA is all about the Power Schools and the $$$....it's fixed..... You're right, if they're able to win out and somehow lose the championship, they'd be at 30 wins. No way can the committee justify keeping out a 30 win team. Old Titan
SDSU getting votes in the AP Top 25 today: If theJacks win out but lose in the finals to 20-win ORU or NDSU, they will be a bubble darling. Don't count them out just yet for an at-large berth...
theeagleman5
Agree...but if the Jacks lose in round one to Omaha or Denver or even in round 2 to a team like UMKC then they are bleeped...just like ORU in 2011....the NCAA would bypass SDSU for a team like 18-13 Florida State who would go nowhere....lol..... EagleManiac
Almost makes me OK with a loss next week when we play them at the Mabee. I don't think we can beat them twice in one season anyways and we'll have to go through them in the Summit guaranteed. I just really want a two-bid Summit.
Old Titan
ORU No. 23 in this Sagarin-based poll of traditionally one-bid leagues.

And the committee says “Challenge accepted” as they start building a case for North Carolina, Florida or the other SDSU.

Honestly, though, I think that’s where ORU’s success in the tournament last year should theoretically help a low-major bubble team. Ironic that you should include Florida in your random list of P5 at-large teams that annually limp into the tournament on the basis of a couple of big wins on their home court, only to be exposed when they play someone like ORU on a neutral court. Maybe this is the year the committee does the right thing. Not everyone in that room is from a P5 school (just most of them - LOL).
George
SDSU’s Idaho loss will be a large ? For the committee and would be the reason they don’t get in. The only remote chance SDSU has is to win out and lose to NDSU or Oral Roberts in the finals. Even then it is probably pretty shaky ground. Summit League conference ranking is 21st this year. Would be nice to try and get in the top 15 again but that depends mostly on the bottom 5 teams to improve out of conference. Losses 18 Alabama 55 Missouri st 130 Washington 318 Idaho Best Wins 46 Washington st 89 Bradley 109 George mason 119 Stephen F Austin. Kenpom conference ranks Summit league 2014 15th 2015 22nd 2016 15th 2017 16th 2018 14th 2019 23rd 2020 19th 2021 16th 2022 21st 1

As an SDSU fan I hope not but much respect for both programs. We just need to keep the good players around on all Summit League teams. Might be hard with the amount of success Obanor is having as a transfer.
dave
Agreed. Hopefully each team will improve so the conference will gain respect nationally and will be more competitive up and down.
