A little bit of perspective on the team's performance this fall:

In the four tournaments they played in, the ORU Women finished 1st, 1st. 2nd, 4th.  Considering that the smallest tournament field was 14 teams, the "head-to-head" record against all opponents totaled 54-4, which is quite remarkable!  However, the strength of schedule was definitely "mid-major", as the tournament fields only included six teams ranked in the Collegiate Top 100, and the highest ranked opponent in any tournament was #63 Sacramento State.  Against those six Top 100 teams, ORU finished 2-4.  As all four of the teams to finish ahead of ORU in the tournaments were top 100 teams, this also means that the team finished 52-0 against competition ranked 100+ (so they didn't incur any "bad" losses).  ORU currently sits at #85 in the NCAA D1, which is the second highest in the Summit (defending champion Denver is ranked #57).

The women's team has definitely learned how to compete and win this fall.  Hopefully, the positive momentum will carry over into the spring and lead the team to the Summit title.
