ORU scores 8 runs in the top of the first inning, of the first game at LSU.

After 3 innings, it's ORU - 8 and LSU - 7.

After ragging on the team for their anemic offense earlier this week, they've now hammered out 16 hits (13 singles, 3 doubles) in the first FOUR innings at eighth ranked LSU, and lead 19-7.  Wow...  Hopefully, the pitching staff can keep LSU (the leading HR hitting team in the nation) in the park, and hold on for a series opening win.

Still a long way to go, but 19 runs through 4 innings is pretty impressive.

Maybe so Eagleman and the Tigers could come back with a vengeance tomorrow. But either we have a quality win on the road against a ranked opponent.

Maybe LSU was distracted with all the Les Miles news 😛

I forgot the game got moved up, been working all day, then just got the score notification on my phone.

“Wow, 22 runs - those SEC teams can sure hit.”

“Wait a minute...ORU SCORED THE 22 RUNS??  HOLY BAYOU BENGALS!!”

That score will send a shock wave through the college baseball world.

What can you say?  “Geaux Eagles!”

Statistics can take funny swings early in the season.

In one game, ORU's season batting average improved from a brutal .223 to a much more respectable .248.

And, LSU's ace started the game with a 0.00 ERA through two scoreless starts and ten innings pitched.  His season ERA is now 6.86. 😝  He recorded one out and gave up 8 earned runs, giving him an ERA for the day of 216.00.  😎
