TrueBlue82
RPI has ORU at 79, SDSU at 89, NDSU at 177, and everyone else at 200+. Shaping up to be a three team race for the title. NDSU gets a huge assist from the schedule, hosting both ORU and SDSU in Fargo on successive weekends in February. SDSU has the cards stacked against them, having to play both contenders on the road. Should make for a very interesting league championship race.
Old Titan
Something to keep an eye on as the conference season gets going: arguably the two best players for SDSU were out tonight as the Bunnies played some high school team from up their way. It remains to be seen if these absences amount to anything significant Reigning POY Douglas Wilson was in street clothes on the bench due to what his coach labeled “COVID protocol”. He hasn’t played in a month due to injury before this setback. And, junk yard dog Noah Friedel served an apparent suspension tonight for his flagrant knuckles-to-the-groin move on Stanley Umude of USD during the Dakota Showcase in December. Still plenty of time for SDSU to establish their team chemistry for a title run, but you never know: a lot of promising rosters never truly realize their potential due to internal issues; just something to watch as mentioned...
