Heading to Omaha

For all the grief that I've given to this coaching staff, I thought that they handled many things well in today's game, including slowing down the tempo and reducing the number of three point attempts in the second half, calling timeouts at critical moments, and helping the Eagles focus on winning the rebounding battle.   It will be very interesting to see how the strategy shifts for tomorrow, as it is unlikely that either team shoots at a 54%+ clip.  We can't rely on the three tomorrow afternoon.

A little dicey at the end but overall a good performance from ORU to win by 12.  K.O. and Max are going to be a nightmare matchup for most teams in the Summit League.  A win on the road is always a blessing.  Good start to conference play!

Big 3 point shot by Glasper blunted that late 11 point run by Omaha and the Golden Eagles hold on to win by a dozen, 95-83.....not much D but not needed when Obanor gets 39 and Abmas 25....only 3 points off the bench which is a concern as bench points will be needed in the back to back Summit games....ORU now 4-5(1-0) with another Omaha game on Sunday....GO BLUE!!....:tb-white:

Weaver, Clover and Jurgens are the only bench players with minutes... The starters logged a lot of playing time. Will be interesting to see how tomorrow goes.

Is it the same officiating crew for both games? The second games in the back to backs are going to be brutal.

According to the Omaha announcing crew (who were excellent), it will in fact be the same officiating crew for Sunday’s game.

The over/under on head referee Frank Spencer’s first technical foul call is the 8:00 media timeout in the first half. 💣

For the second year in a row, I can not for the life of me understand why D’maria Jones does not get more/any minutes.

On the pre game show, JJ (Josh Jonson maybe) said that Jones is injured and will be out of a week or so.  Sheldon Stevens is sick but not with any Covid issues.  So it seeems the bench is somewhat thin, also Lufile was still in a gray looking warm up suit.  These guys are young so they can play back to back games and then have six days off and still be in good shape.

It's John Joslin. He's the team trainer and has been for about 15 years.
