2020 Postseason (and ALL sports) Shambles

Conferences across the land cancelling their postseason tournaments right and left as of 11:00am Thursday morning:  Big 10, Big XII, A-10, WAC, MAC, C-USA, etc.  No word yet from SEC, ACC. Big East and AAC, but they are expected to do the same by end of the day.

If the NCAA does not follow suit with cancelling their championship tournament and the NIT, it will only prove they are "just about the money" as Jay Bilas and other detractors so often say.

Incredibly fluid situation; no telling where it may end for professional, college and secondary school athletics in the coming weeks and months.

AAC and ACC the latest casualties - and it's only 11:30 am.

Why is the Big East still playing (tipped off at 10:00am central time)?

Absolutely crazy.  The MAC Quarterfinals were scheduled to kick off at Noon (Eastern Time) today in Cleveland with #8 Ohio taking on #1 Akron.  At about 11:30 this morning (Eastern Time) an announcement was made that the start of the game was being moved to 1:00 pm (Eastern Time).  Shortly after this and as Ohio's Radio Network/Broadcast Team had started their hour+ long pregame show, the MAC announces that a Press Conference would be held at Noon in Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse where the Tourney was to be played.  Both Ohio's and Akron's teams were already on the floor going through their respective pregame warmups.  At Noon the MAC officially announces they are pulling the plug on the Tourney as people are lined up to get into the Fieldhouse to watch the game.  Even ESPN had announced that the broadcast of the game had been moved from the Noon to the 1:00 pm slot.  In listening to the Ohio broadcast, Ohio's HC Jeff Boals who was being interview made the comment that both the Ohio and Akron players had combined for an informal "pickup game" and that he and Akron HC John Groce were going to let the players stay and play the "pickup game" as long as they wanted to.  That is just insane.

Yeah saw it coming last night when they suspened the NBA season.  Kinda thought the NCAA would do the same thing.  Who wants to play in a 15,000 seat area with no fans, cheerleaders, band, etc.  Might as well just have a scrimmage at the local YMCA!

Heard on the radio a discussion about the coaching carousel.  They were joking about how many jobs may have been saved with no conf tournaments or missing the big dance.  They were specifically talking about  Shaka Smart.

Is it conceivable that Dre, E-man, etc. could get one more year of eligibility if they wanted it?

How about Tyson Ward and Vinnie Shahid at NDSU?

Is ORU (and all other schools) willing to give these seniors one more year of scholarship aid?

How will the Summit League handle eligibility if some member schools bring their seniors back for another year, but others can't/don't?

Is there a chance EVERYONE who plays a "Winter/Spring" sport at the NCAA level will get an additional year of eligibility for the "Lost Season of 2020"?

The Law of Unintended Consequences rears its bizarre head once again:

How do you define “lost season”? Does that only apply for those players that were still playing? (Those conferences that were finished would only have players on the  championship teams.)

That's why I bring up the NDSU players:  they did not get to compete in the NCAA tournament.

Nor did SDSU, USD or ORU in the NIT, CIT or CBI.

If you allow those Bison, Jackrabbit, etc. seniors back into the fold for 2020-21, affecting the balance of conference power, don't you have to afford ALL seniors from each league school the opportunity to get back into the mix?
