Western Illinois at ORU

After the meltdown in Denver a week ago, the Golden Eagles take to the floor at Mabee tomorrow night vs. bottom dweller Western Illinois....The Leathernecks are 5-19 and really stink....but then again, so did Denver....TheEagleman still scratching his head over us blowing a 10 point lead in the final 5 minutes (5 point lead in the final 16 seconds) vs. that dreck......anyway, let's just move on.....hopefully ORU has licked it's wounds and will come to play in this one.....WIU is a team we should pound early and often.....have to think ORU will be at least a 10 point Vegas favorite and this should be an easy double digit win.....both games this week should be tune ups for Sioux Falls and it's time for the Good Guys to get serious....if we don't....then it's one and done in the tournament......expecting a comfortable Golden Eagles win....ORU 92 WIU 75.:tb-white:

Western Illinois will put up a fight because they are tied for 8th place with Denver. The good news they struggle on defense so Eman should have a big night. Eagles need to gain some confidence and two wins this week since they are tied for 5th place with North Dakota. Side note: Eman is on pace to finish 10th all time in scoring and 5th all time in rebounding, if he can keep his season averages for the next four games. He has quietly had an outstanding career at ORU.

Yes Eman has been a great player for ORU over the last 4 years.  He is the type of player that still has the potential to catch fire in the Summit League tournament and lead us to 3 straight wins if the guards will be patient and get the ball to him instead of shooting 3s every chance they get, but I digress...

SDSU is a good team but none of the top Summit League teams this year compare to the best Valpo teams of years gone by or the IUPUI teams with George Hill.  I still think the Summit League tournament is winnable for any of the Top 5 teams that catches fire at the right time and plays disciplined on both sides of the ball.

It starts this week with 2 home wins to head into the tournament with momentum and confidence.

I could bet $100 on the money line for WIU straight up.....if WIU wins it's gonna pay $740.....hummm….could happen with how our team plays....the money line for ORU tonight is you have to bet $1,150 just to win $100....lol....not a chance....but I do think that ORU wins this game by double digits....🤔

Funny ORUTerry! Fun game for the Eagles. Everything they ran on offense turned to gold. Play like this and they could win the tournament but harder to do agaisnt the Dakota teams.  Francis with a career night 16 points and 5 rebounds. Go ORU!
