Old Titan
Game notes are out for the match-up at Creighton Tuesday night; here's the "probable" starting line-up: Looks like Lufile as a starter may have been a one-off at Wichita State; perhaps a nod to his connection via his brother to the Shocker program? DJ Weaver once again listed as available off the bench - but, is he really? E-Man also listed, and according to previous chatter, that's not going to happen any time soon. National TV broadcast on FS1; though I'm guessing it's a Creighton production with national ads for FOX programming, instead of Billy Bob's of Omaha Chrysler/Jeep/Ram. https://www.oruathletics.com/sports/mbkb/2019-20/releases/20191202iextls
Old Titan
Excellent scouting report on the game from Omaha.com; with some intriguing stats: Remember when I lamented the fact that ORU has no rim protector on this roster? According to this prognosis, early season NCAA stats are bearing out that concern: ORU ranks 322nd nationally in Pomeroy's blocked shot percentage metric (4.8%). With OSU, Tulsa and Wichita all out of the gate quickly, ORU's schedule (so far) ranks as the fifth-toughest nationally. ORU ranks 19th nationally in Pomeroy's adjusted tempo metric; no doubt bolstered by the racehorse wins over Houston Baptist and the two non-D1 schools. https://www.omaha.com/sports/college/creighton/scouting-report-players-to-watch-three-keys-for-creighton-vs/article_ac4e0460-9dd8-5856-a0c0-f8b2941af842.html
theeagleman5
I think if we had E-Man and D.J Weaver....ORU could possibly win this game.....TheEagleman has watched Creighton play 3 times and I think they are decent but not THAT good....perhaps my opinion is skewed because I watched a lot of the San Diego State game where the Blue Jays got roasted.....at 5-2 they are still going to be about a 10-12 point favorite vs. ORU....sure wish E-Man was a go but sounds like he's out until at least after Christmas....and D.J....well, nobody seems to know....we need to hit some of those 3 point bombs in order to stay competitive....ORU should be well rested and ready to rumble while Creighton had a tough tournament last week....looking forward to watching the Good Guys on Fox Sports 1.....Creighton 80 ORU 72..... theeagleman5
Creighton is +13 tonight and O/U is 152.5.....TheEagleman thinking about teasing the Blue Jays and the under with no E-Man in the lineup....
Keenan Henderson
Creighton relys almost completely on guard play. If there guards are hitting then they are a tough team to beat, just ask 12 ranked Texas Tech. Good guys need to pound the ball inside and control the glass to keep the game close. Remember the last time ORU played the Blue jays. Creighton was ranked tenth and 10-0 and the Golden Eagles were 2-8 but lost 66-65. Had many chances to win that game. Eman was a freshman then. Old Titan
This can be a weird week for college teams; coming off the Thanksgiving break, with finals looming, etc. Never quite sure which teams will show up. ORU would be undermanned in this one even with Nzekwesi; can't imagine a win without him. Blue Jays by double-digits.
Keenan Henderson
Looks like we can watch the game on Creighton's basketball website.
Old Titan
It’s on FS1 nationally, plus streaming on the FOX Sports website and app as well. Great opportunity for some national exposure; hopefully it will be a close game.
Old Titan
Trainer John Joslin reporting that E-Man returned to practice Saturday and may see some action tonight, which is great. RJ Fuqua also available; no mention once again of Weaver’s status.
Old Titan
Interesting promo for the Bluejays tonight: pregame $1.00 beer from 5:30 to 7:30 to get the seats filled early and the fans revved up. Should be interesting to see how things go before the first media timeout with what could be a raucous crowd.

No mention of a fairly serious April surgery until the new season rolls around, and then no further mention of it at all. And he’s dressing out every night? Old Titan
Lufile starting in place of Obanor; already has an offensive rebound put-back on the opening possession.
EagleManiac
OT, you finally get your answer to Coach’s refusal to wear a tie.
Old Titan
Abmas really lost out there early; looks like a freshman. Kearns literally got his ankles broken by a Creighton guard (actually, looked like a calf) and had to leave the game; Fuqua in.
Otis 83
E-man is in the game!

He said that last year; still sounds ridiculous. I’m betting money he read it on Facebook; probably from a linked Russian website dedicated to the downfall of Western civilization. theeagleman5
$1 beer night and E-man back...this night already a win...will somebody please guard #5!!!
Old Titan
After a spirited start, the same old bad habits have emerged as CU has doubled the score: terrible shot selection punctuated by too many threes, and complete confusion on defense. It’s like watching Oklahoma football on defense last year under Mike Stoops: talented guys running around like chickens with their heads cut off.
